Amidst the overall decline of the crypto market, the assets under management (AUM) of almost all crypto VCs are shrinking, and the industry is entering a brutal shakeout cycle. However, against this backdrop, a crypto venture capital fund established less than five years ago stands out as a notable exception, forging an independent growth curve amidst the contraction.

According to a batch of unpublished crypto VC financial disclosure documents obtained by Fortune magazine last week from the U.S. SEC, data shows that the AUM of leading institutions such as Paradigm, Pantera, a16z crypto, and Multicoin all shrank in 2025, with Multicoin shrinking by more than half.

The only one to buck the trend is Haun Ventures, a venture capital fund established only four years ago, whose AUM has grown from an initial $1 billion to $2.5 billion in 2025.


In the dismal crypto market, this is no accident.  Last year, market rumors indicated that Haun Ventures was close to completing a new $1 billion funding round. These developments reflect that Haun Ventures and its founder, Katie Haun, have successfully validated their unique investment strategy through the market and limited partners (LPs), propelling them into the ranks of top-tier VCs.

A Distinctive Founder Style and Background

Haun Ventures' distinctiveness was foreshadowed from the outset.

Founder Katie Haun is not a typical crypto investor. She served as a U.S. federal prosecutor for over a decade, investigating financial crimes and establishing the U.S. government's first cryptocurrency task force. In 2018, she became the first female partner at a16z, co-leading the fund's cryptocurrency fund. She also served on the board of Coinbase, thus possessing policy insight, institutional resources, and practical experience.

What $1 Billion in Weekly Bitcoin ETFs Inflows Actually Signals

The weekly flow breakdown reveals a Friday-heavy pattern: $663.9 million hit on Friday alone, roughly two-thirds of the total, with Tuesday contributing $411.5 million and Wednesday adding $186 million. Thursday brought just $26 million, and Monday registered a $291 million outflow. That volatility in daily flows suggests opportunistic accumulation rather than a steady institutional drip.

IBIT’s $612 million weekly haul pushed its market cap to $159.22 billion, placing it among the world’s largest ETFs by assets. Fidelity’s FBTC also contributed meaningfully to inflows, while Grayscale’s GBTC continued to bleed – a split that reflects sustained conviction in lower-fee products and residual exit pressure from legacy holders.

U.S. institutions captured 96.4% of global crypto product inflows last week, absorbing $1.06 billion of a $1.1 billion global total. That concentration matters: it signals that Bitcoin demand is increasingly centralized in regulated U.S. vehicles, making ETF flow data the most reliable leading indicator for near-term BTC price direction.

If weekly inflows sustain above $750 million, BTC’s support floor around current levels strengthens materially. If flows revert toward the $200–$300 million range seen during January’s plateau, the bid thins out fast.

Ethereum spot ETFs pulled in $275 million net last week, XRP ETFs added $11.75 million, and Solana shed $5.6 million; this was selective altcoin rotation, not a broad risk-on flush.

Russia's State Duma received a draft law on Friday that would make operating an unlicensed crypto service a criminal offense. The bill targets any individual or entity organizing the circulation of digital currencies without prior approval from the Bank of Russia.

Members of an organized group face harsher consequences. The bill sets out sentences of up to seven years in prison or compulsory labor of up to five years for group offenses. Courts could also impose a separate financial penalty of up to 1 million rubles, roughly $13,100, or an equivalent portion of the convicted person's income over a period of up to five years.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) continued to trade within a narrow range on Monday, following a volatile week amid a broader crypto market downturn.

Notably, over the past week, the world’s second-largest memecoin decreased by almost 4%, as selling pressure spread across major digital assets.

Meanwhile, analyst SHIB Mortal highlighted that rising burn activity appears to be aligning with ongoing network engagement, suggesting that increased ecosystem usage may be contributing to the reduction in circulating supply.

Additionally, analyst Crypto Patel emphasized the psychological contrast between SHIB’s past and present valuation, noting that early adopters benefited from massive gains during previous cycles.

The implication among bullish traders is that extended periods of depressed prices may present accumulation opportunities for investors willing to take a long-term view, especially if structural improvements continue to emerge within the ecosystem.

Furthermore, according to analyst Crypto Lens, SHIB appears to be holding a historically significant demand zone that has previously acted as a launchpad for major upward moves.

According to the analyst, the token’s price history has included several extended consolidation phases followed by explosive rallies, including gains exceeding 1000% in earlier cycles. This pattern has led some market watchers to suggest that SHIB may once again be approaching a critical accumulation phase.
