1. What Is Eclipse?
Eclipse Network is the first Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) Layer 2 protocol deployed on the Ethereum network, aiming to combine Solana's high-throughput execution capability with Ethereum's vast asset base and robust security. The network executes transactions via Solana's asynchronous parallel architecture and then batches and sends the data to the Ethereum mainnet for final settlement. With its high-performance design and ultra-low transaction fees, Eclipse has become an ideal execution environment for Web3 applications such as DeFi, gaming, and social apps.
2. How Does Eclipse Work?
SVM Execution Environment: Leverages Solana's parallel architecture to execute transactions, thus improving throughput efficiency.
Ethereum Settlement Security: All transactions processed via Solana are ultimately recorded on the Ethereum mainchain, ensuring finality and security.
Low Cost and High Efficiency: Average transaction fees are around $0.0002, with block times comparable to Solana.
Protocol Security Audit: Core contracts are audited by OtterSec.
$ES Token Utility: Acts as an on-chain gas token, enables governance voting, and serves as the governance instrument for MEV extraction and distribution.
3. Who Founded Eclipse?
Core Team: CEO Vijay Chetty, previously worked in renowned institutions such as Ripple, dYdX, and Uniswap.
Funding: Raised approximately $50 million in early-stage financing from investors including Polychain Capital, Delphi Ventures, Tribe Capital, Hack VC, Accel, and Placeholder Ventures.
4. Eclipse Tokenomics
Token Name: ES
Total Supply: 1,000,000,000
Circulating Supply (After TGE): 150,000,000 (15%)
Token Allocation and Vesting Schedule:
Airdrop + Liquidity: 15% (150M), 100% unlocked at TGE.
Ecosystem + Development: 35% (350M), subject to lockup with a vesting schedule to be disclosed, and released gradually per the roadmap.
Contributors (Current & Future): 19% (190M), 3-year lockup, followed by a 1-year cliff, then 4-year linear vesting.
Early Supporters / Investors: 31% (310M), 3-year lockup, with a stable vesting schedule thereafter.
A portion has already been unlocked for liquidity and airdrops, while the remaining tokens will be released gradually according to the vesting schedule.
5. Timeline of Key Milestones
November 2024: Eclipse Network mainnet went live (including SVM/L2 architecture)
July 16, 2025: ES tokens were officially launched, and the airdrop campaign began (lasting approximately 30 days)
Mid-July 2025: 150M ES tokens were initially released to support early users and developers in accessing liquidity and participating in governance.
H2 2025: Roll out DAO governance, configure the MEV distribution mechanism, release ecosystem development grants, and launch other planned initiatives.
Eclipse is a modular Layer 2 blockchain that brings Solana's high-performance execution capabilities into the Ethereum ecosystem.
