Total crypto venture investment fell 26% to $9.3 billion in the first half of 2022

Investment in venture-backed crypto companies slowed in the first half of this year, from a record $12.5 billion in the first half of last year to an estimated $9.3 billion in the first six months of this year, down 26% from a year earlier, according to Crunchbase. On the other hand, trading volumes increased as 534 deals were announced in the first half of this year, compared with 456 in the first half of last year. Second, q2 data was relatively stable, with more than $4.2 billion flowing into venture-backed crypto startups in q2, down about $1 billion from the previous quarter and slightly higher than the $6.1 billion raised in the same period last year, but well below the all-time high of $6.1 billion set in q4. Overall VENTURE capital deals in the United States fell 22% in the first half of this year from a year earlier to $123.1 billion, according to GlobalData.
