Trump Warns Oman Allies: Fail to Comply and Face Bombing
05/28 00:25
On May 28, U.S. President Trump commented on reports regarding Iran and Oman jointly controlling the Strait of Hormuz, stating that Oman "will behave well" and rejecting any such mechanism, saying, "Otherwise, we will have to bomb them." Iranian authorities proposed collaborating with Oman to regulate maritime traffic in the strait located between Iran and Oman. Meanwhile, Iran had considered establishing a joint fee mechanism with Oman, but this proposal faced opposition from the United States. In response to this proposal, Trump told reporters after a cabinet meeting: "No one can control the strait. The strait will be open to everyone," adding that the U.S. would "closely monitor the situation." Trump further stated, "Oman will act like other countries; otherwise, we will have to bomb them. They understand this, so nothing will happen."
