Codex Introduces Browser Operation: Self-Clicking After Frontend Completion, Closing the Coding-Validation Loop
04/24 10:35
According to monitoring by Beating, OpenAI Codex has added a browser use feature, allowing the coding agent to operate the browser within the application. After developers have Codex generate frontend code, Codex can automatically open the built-in browser and click on the rendered UI like a human. It can identify and fix bugs through screen visuals and network/console logs without requiring developers to manually switch out for validation. This feature runs through the built-in Browser plugin of Codex, and users can manage the list of allowed and blocked websites in the settings. OpenAI Codex engineer James Sun stated that this update brings Codex "closer to delivering high-quality, tested code changes as a fully automated coding agent."
