Crypto could be getting ready to gallop as the year of the horse sets up a fresh run higher across ETH, BTC, and other digital assets.

Ethereum’s performance relative to bitcoin is drawing attention as its price pattern against the leading cryptocurrency closely resembles the setup that preceded the last major crypto bull market.

The ETH-BTC ratio has already fallen about 31% after bottoming roughly nine months before gold’s recent peak, echoing a prior cycle in which Ethereum later surged more than 300% against bitcoin as capital rotated out of safe havens.

Bitcoin is trading near $78,800, Ethereum around $2,345 and gold near $4,830, while Asian equities, led by Japan’s Nikkei 225, are rallying on optimism over a U.S.-India trade deal despite lingering volatility in crypto and precious metals.

The most recent price movement for $XRP indicates that the bullish momentum has mostly vanished, making the asset vulnerable as the market is still dominated by selling pressure. $XRP now seems to be firmly in the hands of sellers, with bulls demonstrating little capacity to defend important price zones following multiple unsuccessful attempts at recovery in recent weeks.


The buy side is clearly exhausted. As seen by the daily chart, $XRP remains trapped in a persistent downtrend, consistently forming lower highs and lower lows. Each rebound attempt has been weaker than the previous one, indicating declining confidence among buyers. Additionally, the asset has fallen significantly below its key moving averages, such as the 50-day and 100-day levels, which now serve as dynamic resistance rather than support.


$XRP is now at levels not seen in months thanks to recent price action that delivered yet another steep decline; even brief rallies are unsuccessful and soon face pressure to sell. Volume spikes that coincide with declining trends provide additional evidence that market players are still selling rather than buying. Technically, $XRP also broke out of a descending structure only to collapse again, showing that attempts to reverse momentum have repeatedly failed.


Such false recovery signals often accelerate bearish sentiment as traders who entered expecting a breakout are forced to close positions at a loss. In comparison to some major assets, $XRP's relative performance indicates even stronger selling, but the overall weakness of the cryptocurrency market has only increased pressure.


Unless bulls quickly reclaim key resistance levels and rebuild upward momentum, $XRP risks drifting further

Data compiled by SoSoValue shows that these funds experienced the biggest outflow ever. They shed $92 million in assets on Thursday, with Grayscale’s GXRP shedding $98 million.  Its outflow was offset by inflows into XRP ETFs from Canary, Bitwise, and Franklin Templeton. Therefore, spot Ripple ETFs have now shed $1.2 million in assets this month.  XRP price dived as its futures open interest dropped to over $3.2 billion, its lowest level this year. It has been in a downward trend after peaking at $4.5 billion earlier this month. Tether integrates USDT and Tether Gold into Opera’s MiniPay wallet

Tether has integrated $USDT and Tether Gold (XAUt0) into MiniPay, Opera’s stablecoin wallet, aiming to help millions in emerging markets access stable, dollar- and gold-backed value, the companies announced Monday.

With $USDT’s $186 billion market cap, users can send, receive, and hold digital dollars without blockchain complexity, Tether stated. Meanwhile, Tether Gold offers a gold-backed, inflation-resistant savings option.

Built on the Celo blockchain, MiniPay’s mission is to bring fast, affordable, and user-friendly digital payments to millions of users across emerging markets. Starting in Africa, the wallet has expanded to over 60 countries, including new pushes into Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Since its launch in late 2023, the wallet has attracted 3.6 million on-chain users and facilitated 350 million transactions, with 50% growth in Q4 2025, Opera noted.

The partnership demonstrates Tether and Opera’s commitment to practical financial tools and global inclusion.
