Memecoins have experienced strong downward pressure amid extended weakness across the market.

However, in the last 24 hours, the memecoin market cap rose 8% to $23 billion, while trading volume rose 77% to $2.85 billion.

Amid this sector-wide trend reversal, MemeCore [M] also rebounded, successfully holding $1.1 and climbing to a local high of 1.329.

As of this writing, MemeCore was trading around $1.32, after rising by 11.2% on the daily charts. However, its trading volume dropped by 13%, suggesting that market participation is yet to recover.

As the sector-wide momentum shifted, M traders also rushed to position themselves, fearing they would miss out.

As a result, the memecoin’s Open Interest climbed by 9.4% to $25.66 million. Such a jump in OI suggested increased participation as traders opened new positions.

In fact, significant capital flowed into the Futures market. According to CoinGlass data, MemeCore recorded $1.84 million in Futures inflow compared to $1.47 million in outflows. As a result, Futures Netflow dropped 89% to $365k.Meanwhile, the memecoin’s Long/Short Ratio jumped above 1 across exchanges. The overall ratio was around 1.07 as of this writing, reflecting high demand for long positions.

This implies that traders mostly opened long positions, indicating bullishness as traders expected the market to continue rising.

On the spot side, the same sentiment was observed. According to CoinGlass data, the memecoin spot netflow flipped negative on the 24-hour timeframe.

As MemeCore saw a recovery in demand, the memecoin’s upside momentum strengthened a little. For example, the memecoin’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) formed a bullish crossover and rose to 47.

At these levels, RSI showed buyers returning to the market, but they have yet to retake control fully. The EMA further confirms this short-term strength.

Lido’s [DAO] latest accounting discrepancy briefly understated stETH staking yields. As a result, this error highlighted an operational reporting issue rather than a protocol failure.

The daily rebase $APR reached 2.04% instead of the expected 2.15% because the accounting oracle missed a 32 $ETH validator deposit. However, contributors verified validator balances and found no missing funds or protocol penalties.

That outcome shifted attention from security risks toward accounting accuracy, strengthening confidence in Lido’s staking infrastructure. Meanwhile, the smaller rebase reflected delayed reward recognition instead of weaker validator performance.

The team continues investigating the root cause before deploying a fix. Afterward, the next rebase will restore the omitted balances and normalize reported staking yields.

The reporting discrepancy originated during validator accounting rather than reward generation. As the accounting oracle prepared its daily snapshot, one 32 $ETH validator deposit remained in transit between reporting stages and therefore fell outside the finalized update.

Since the accounting is done on a snapshot basis, that timing created a temporary mismatch between recorded deposits. As a result, the validator balances were already reflected on the Beacon Chain.

Rather than altering staking performance, the synchronization delay only affected how the oracle calculated distributable rewards for that reporting cycle.

Once the pending deposit completes the accounting process, subsequent oracle updates will capture the balance. This would then allow future rebases to reflect the full validator position without permanently reducing staking rewards.

The reawakening of old coins has historically coincided with profit-taking by Bitcoin’s longest-term holders.

Dormant coin movement is when Bitcoin sits still for years, then moves again. It’s closely watched by analysts, and activity from long-held wallets has often coincided with selling. Quiet wallets indicate holders are holding tight.

“OGs taking profit,” Thorn said, comparing the pattern to Bitcoin’s 2017 bull run. Most of the Bitcoin veterans who wanted to sell into 2024 and 2025 strength, in his reading, are done. That’s one less local selling pressure on the market. Coin days destroyed tells a similar tale. That metric, which measures spending weighted by how long coins were sitting idle, also fell in Q2.

Thorn called the two-year period “a great distribution” in mid-July. He wrote that 2024 and 2025 moved as much long-dormant Bitcoin onchain as the entire 2017 rally, and nothing in between came close. And he pegged the pace for 2026 to be less than half of last year’s dormant coin reactivations.

Galaxy’s charts go back to 2016. They show a repeating cycle, with old coins waking up during the rallies of 2017, 2021, and again across 2024 and 2025. Holders of coins aged 1 to 10 years moved large amounts, mostly to sell. The distribution peaked at the end of 2025, with coins aged between one and two years representing about 900,000 BTC moved in one month. This year, that flow dried up.

BitMine Immersion Will Hit Its 6 Million Target Soon

BitMine has accumulated over 5.77 million $ETH coins, which are now valued at over $11 billion. This means that the company needs to buy 222,532 Ethereum coins, currently worth over $422 million. If the trend continues, it will hit its 6 million target in the coming months.

Completing the purchases will benefit BitMine’s shareholders in two main ways. First, it will likely conclude the dilution that has pushed its outstanding shares to 603 million from less than 239 million last year.

Second, the company will now transition from being a highly dilutive firm into a cash generator. It will achieve that through staking its Ethereum holdings, which will generate about 3% annual return. The estimated annual return will be about 180,000 coins, which are now valued at over $342 million.

Estimates by two analysts are that BitMine’s annual revenue will jump to $125 million this year. They also expect that the revenue will jump to $429 million next year.

For example, SharpLink ), a similar company, has already generated 23,918 $ETH tokens in revenue since it started staking its tokens.

BitMine Has Become Highly Undervalued

Meanwhile, there are signs that the company is highly undervalued. It has a market capitalization of $9.52 billion, much lower than its Ethereum holdings of $11 billion.

Most notably, unlike Strategy ), BitMine has no debt. Its only liability is from its preferred stock, which is expected to cost it almost $40 million a year.
