Bitcoin (BTC) traders are boosting purchases, signaling the start of a perceived long-term recovery. Within 72 hours, several on-chain metrics flagged as red drivers have flipped, fueling the market resurgence. At the time of writing, Bitcoin trades under $75,000 with bulls attempting to break the mark.
The Bull Score Index has pumped new momentum to traders looking to steer Bitcoin’s course. After months in the red zone, the metric is now at the highest level since October 2025. Within 12 hours, it surged above 40, entering neutral territory. 

On-chain analysts explained the possible implications when viewed in a broader context. The BSI coincides with a price uptick above $74,000, pointing to a gradual improvement in trading conditions. In October, Bitcoin was relatively bullish as investors ramped up assets for crypto treasuries and other offerings. 

This is a stark contrast to present conditions, as the metric crept above 40 once more. Bulls opine a gradual recovery following weak momentum and risks that liquidate retail and institutional traders. While in neutral levels and different from the Q4 2025 uptick, the charts don’t show clear signs of weakness. 

In addition to the BSI metric, other on-chain factors have supported a price rebound over the past few months. Bitcoin trading volume has constantly exceeded the altcoin trading volume threshold for two months. Furthermore, short-term holders might be selling into the top crypto rise, allowing larger holders to pick up assets toward long-term gains.

Historically, a crypto rebound has been driven by multiple strategies at different investor levels. Retail and short-term traders tend to seek early profits to hedge prior losses, while whales absorb those positions.

Charles Hoskinson Says 34% of Bitcoin Could Be Stolen by Quantum Computers in 2030s

Charles Hoskinson used a lengthy video address this week to deliver what he described as a long overdue reckoning for Bitcoin maximalists, centred on a quantum computing threat he says is no longer theoretical and a proposed fix he says does not actually work.

As of March 1, 2026, over 34% of all Bitcoin has had its public key exposed on-chain, either through address reuse or legacy pay-to-public-key-hash formats. That represents approximately 8 million Bitcoin that could be stolen by an attacker with a sufficiently powerful quantum computer. Based on current research timelines, Hoskinson places that threat arriving in the 2030s.

“Not hypothetically one magical day in the future when unicorns fart rainbows,” he said. “In the 2030s. Right in front of your face.”

The Proposal That Does Not Solve the Problem

A Bitcoin Improvement Proposal currently circulating, BIP-361, attempts to address the vulnerability by freezing quantum-vulnerable funds and forcing a migration to post-quantum addresses. Hoskinson spent considerable time dissecting why he believes it fails on its own terms.

The proposal claims to be a soft fork. Hoskinson says it is not. It would require a hard fork, something Bitcoin has never done and, by the religion of its maximalist community, never will.

More critically, the proposed zero-knowledge proof recovery system only works for wallets built on the BIP-39 seed phrase standard, which was not introduced until 2013. Approximately 1.7 million Bitcoin, including an estimated 1.1 million belonging to Satoshi Nakamoto, exist in legacy wallet formats that predate this standard. There is no zero-knowledge proof that can recover those coins.

Neo 4 RISC-V VM solution passes full MainNet state validation



A NeoVM-compatible RISC-V virtual machine solution for Neo 4 has passed block-by-block state root verification against the full Neo MainNet dataset, confirming the design has moved beyond the conceptual stage. Neo co-founder and core developer Erik Zhang shared the milestone, describing the result as validation that the approach produces identical state transitions to the existing system.

The achievement follows Zhang’s draft Neo 4 roadmap published in Sept. 2025, which proposed NeoVM 2 as a next-generation virtual machine with RISC-V compatibility, fine-grained gas metering, and improved cost efficiency. At the time, Zhang stated that adoption of RISC-V would allow Neo to onboard existing developer infrastructure, improve efficiency, and enhance support for zero-knowledge proofs.

Architecture and validation

The implementation integrates PolkaVM, a RISC-V-based virtual machine originally developed by Parity Technologies for the Polkadot ecosystem, into Neo’s execution environment. An architecture diagram shared by Neo core developer Jimmy Liao illustrates the layered design: the Neo Core C# node interfaces with a PolkaVM Host Runtime written in Rust through a Foreign Function Interface bridge, with a RISC-V sandbox layer supporting both legacy NeoVM bytecode and native RISC-V contracts.
