The memecoin sector experienced dramatic price movements in the past 24 hours, surging 9.79%. Its market capitalization even climbed to $32.82 billion at one point, with daily trading volume surging 78% to approximately $4.95 billion.

The shift in the top 20 memecoins by market capitalization was led by Fartcoin [FARTCOIN]. So the question arises – what's behind this surge in price and trading volume?

FARTCOIN leads in daily capital inflows, but liquidity remains an issue.

On-chain data shows that FARTCOIN leads Solana [SOL] memecoin in daily capital inflows. According to Sun Flow data, approximately $383,000 in whale funds flowed into FARTCOIN, surpassing Pudgy Penguins [PENGU], which ranked second with $286,000.

Furthermore, a Useless Coin [USELESS] whale also began accumulating FARTCOIN after establishing a $24,480 position. At the time this whale accumulated these tokens, the memecoin's market capitalization was $181.62 million.

 This behavior suggests that well-known whales have noticed the asset's rebound price action, providing further evidence for this trend.

FARTCOIN memecoin price has surged over 12% in the past 24 hours due to these capital inflows. This strength is consistent with PEPE, dogwifhat [WIF], BONK, and SPX6900 [SPX].

However, liquidity remains limited due to the continued explosive growth in the total number of tokens issued each cycle.

Approximately 37.8 million tokens have been issued since the inception of cryptocurrencies, explaining why memecoin, despite its surge, has failed to reach the heights of previous cycles. This remains a key obstacle to a recovery in the memecoin sector.

While state-linked wallet activity continues to be closely monitored in the cryptocurrency market, recent Bitcoin transfers from an address linked to the Bhutanese government have attracted attention. According to information shared by the onchain data platform Onchain Lens, the address transferred a total of 21.52 $BTC to various platforms.

According to the shared data, the majority of the transfers were sent to the cryptocurrency trading company QCP Capital. On-chain records show that a wallet linked to the Bhutanese government transferred approximately 20.5 $BTC to QCP Capital. This transfer was estimated to be worth approximately $1.52 million at the time of the transaction.

In addition, a small amount of Bitcoin was sent to a newly created wallet from the same address. According to the data, approximately 1.02 $BTC was transferred in this second transaction, and the value of these assets was estimated at approximately $75,900.

Analysts note that transfers from state-linked wallets are often associated with portfolio management, custody arrangements, or institutional trading activities. It is known that government agencies, particularly those with large-scale crypto asset reserves, occasionally conduct asset transfers via OTC (over-the-counter) trading platforms.
