Is a Cardano market bottom finally forming on the price charts?

Cardano [ADA] has continued its consolidation beneath the $0.30-level. This sideways price movement has been in place since the February crash, with Cardano managing to climb to a high of $0.313 in late February.

Since then, however, the local highs ADA has registered have struggled to clear the $0.30 and $0.28 resistance levels. While ADA showed no price trends in the higher timeframes, whales used the opportunity to scoop up more of the altcoin.

According to AMBCrypto, Cardano whales accumulated 10 million tokens within a 72-hour window. This brought the total whale-held supply to nearly 5.71 billion tokens.

Generally, a contraction in volatility, combined with whale accumulation, is a good market-bottom signal. Hence, the question – When might ADA manage to break out of its current range?

Onchain data showed transfers from cryptocurrency wallets known to be in the possession of the US government.

Accordingly, the US government deposited three altcoins, Uniswap ($UNI), Cronos ($CRO), and Chainlink ($LINK), which were seized, into Coinbase.

According to onchain analyst Onchain Lens, a US government-controlled wallet deposited 2,466 $UNI (worth $8,410), 152,925 $CRO (worth $10,689), and 1,589 $LINK (worth $15,703) into Coinbase Prime approximately six hours ago.

The assets were seized from Brian Krewson, who was serving a prison sentence for aiding money laundering related to drug offenses.

According to data provided by Arkham Intelligence, the US government wallet contains cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USDT, WBTC, ZEC, BNB, and DAI.

Crypto analyst Benjamin Cowen is cautioning that Bitcoin could still be at risk of setting a new cycle low later this year, pointing to historical patterns from previous bear markets.In a recent YouTube update, Cowen examines the time gaps between major lows in past cycles, suggesting the current market may not yet be out of danger. "In 2014, Bitcoin set a low in April and the next low wasn't until October," Cowen says, noting that the gap between those lows was about 174 days. Now comes the hard part.Stablecoins have moved from crypto niche to an institutional priority, but the next phase of adoption will depend on infrastructure, privacy and real-world usability, executives from MoonPay, Ripple and Paxos said at Consensus Miami 2026.

Richard Harrison, MoonPay’s vice president of banking and payment partnerships, said traditional finance firms are entering stablecoins faster because regulation has made the market easier to navigate.

“What GENIUS brought us was clarity,” Harrison said. “It was like a permission slip for companies to enter into stablecoins.”

Harrison said stablecoins are also a natural evolution of payments, where speed and convenience have long been limited by legacy rails. Cross-border transfers can still take days and remittances can carry steep fees, he said, while stablecoins allow near-instant, one-to-one value transfer.

Still, Harrison said stablecoins represent only a small share of global remittances today and may reach roughly 10% within five years. Business-to-business payments are already a clear use case, he said, but consumer adoption remains harder.

Jack McDonald, Ripple’s senior vice president of stablecoins, said institutional customers require regulated products, strong counterparties and trusted custody arrangements before moving meaningful volume on chain.

Coinbase loses nearly $400 million in Q1 as CEO seeks to reduce dependence on spot crypto trading
The U.S.-based crypto exchange reported total first-quarter revenue of $1.41 billion, down 31% when compared to the same period in 2025.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said the company is transforming from a “spot-focused crypto platform to a place” where users can trade many asset classes.

Coinbase posted a net loss of $394.1 million in the first quarter as cryptocurrency prices fell dramatically during the period, causing the exchange to register significant losses on the digital assets it held on its balance sheet, the company said Thursday in its latest earnings report.

The company lost $482 million on the crypto that was held for investment purposes.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong remained optimistic, saying that eventually "all of finance" will move onchain and his company was built to capitalize on the transformation.

"Despite the crypto market being down, the fundamental growth of the onchain economy is strong," Armstrong said in a video posted to X. He also said Coinbase is transforming from a "spot-focused crypto platform to a place" where users can trade many asset classes, including derivatives, commodities, and futures trading, and prediction markets event contracts.

In the first quarter of 2025, Coinbase (COIN) earned $66 million in net income. This most recent quarter is Coinbase's second consecutive quarter with a net loss. In its previous quarterly release, the company registered a net loss of $667 million.

The U.S.-based crypto exchange also reported during the first quarter of 2026 total revenues of $1.41 billion, down 31% when compared to the same period in 2025. Transaction revenue also fell 40% year-on-year to $756 million. Subscription and services revenue suffered less, dropping 14% to $584 million, Coinbase reported.
