Whales trigger Bitcoin’s largest rebound signal; Is $100k next?

Bitcoin ($BTC) whales may be signaling a possible rebound for the asset, which has been undergoing consolidation in recent sessions while attempting to hold above $70,000.

In this line, data from CryptoQuant shows the Exchange Whale Ratio, an on-chain metric tracking the share of large transactions flowing into exchanges, has surged to its highest level in six years, last seen in the previous market cycle.

Historically, sharp spikes in this metric have coincided with short-term price bottoms during consolidation phases before Bitcoin resumes bullish momentum.

The latest rise suggests whales are once again driving exchange activity while retail participation has fallen to a six-year low, indicating large investors may be accumulating as prices remain below recent highs.

Such divergence often signals a market cycle transition, with large holders building positions during uncertainty while weaker hands exit, potentially absorbing much of the selling pressure.

In previous instances when the whale ratio reached extreme levels, Bitcoin soon entered an uptrend after forming a short-term bottom. If the historical pattern repeats, the current signal could indicate the early stages of another rebound, potentially opening a path toward the $100,000 level.

Big Bull Michael Saylor Announces $1.5 Billion Bitcoin (BTC) Deal! “Biggest in Recent Weeks!”

Strategy, one of the largest institutional bulls, continues its weekly Bitcoin ($BTC) purchases.

The company, which announces its purchases every Monday, stated in its latest announcement that it had purchased an additional $2.13 billion worth of $BTC.

MSTR announced last week that it purchased an additional 22,337 $BTC for $1.57 billion at an average price of $70,194.

This purchase is one of the largest the company has made recently, bringing its Bitcoin holdings one step closer to 800,000 $BTC.

As of March 15, 2026, we hold 761,068 $BTC, purchased for approximately $57.61 billion at approximately $75,696 per Bitcoin.

As you may recall, Saylor, in a post that included a chart tracking Strategy’s Bitcoin purchases, once again hinted at his recent purchases with the phrase “Bigger Orange.”

Crypto This Week: $229M Unlock Events Ahead While Ethereum Whale Makes $17M Move
Over $438M in crypto token unlocks are scheduled this week, increasing circulating supply across major projects like ZRO, ARB, and ASTER.

ASTER and ZRO lead the upcoming token releases, with unlocks worth $55.9M and $50.3M respectively between March 16 and March 22.

While token supply rises, an Ethereum whale bought $17M in ETH, showing continued accumulation despite large token unlock events.

The crypto market is set for a large wave of token unlocks over the next seven days, with the total value expected to exceed $438 million, according to data from Tokenomist.

Token unlocks refer to the release of previously locked tokens into circulation. These tokens are usually allocated to early investors, project teams, or ecosystem incentives and become available based on pre-set schedules.

Several large one-time unlocks exceeding $5 million are scheduled during the period. These include tokens such as ZRO, BARD, RIVER, MBG, YZY, and KAITO, along with the native token of Arbitrum (ARB).

Alongside the one-time releases, several projects will conduct linear unlocks, meaning tokens are distributed gradually each day. Projects with daily unlock values above $1 million include RAIN, Solana (SOL), CC, RIVER, TRUMP, Worldcoin (WLD), Dogecoin (DOGE), ASTER, and Bittensor (TAO).
