Nvidia backs Thinking Machines Lab in multiyear strategic partnership

Thinking Machines Lab, led by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, has secured a major investment and multiyear partnership with Nvidia, according to a Tuesday announcement.

The deal includes deploying at least one gigawatt of Vera Rubin systems, designing AI training infrastructure, and expanding access to frontier models for enterprises and researchers.

Discussing the move, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said that AI represents humanity’s most powerful instrument for uncovering knowledge and that Thinking Machines has built an exceptional team to advance AI.

“We are thrilled to partner with Thinking Machines to realize their exciting vision for the future of AI,” he stated.

According to Thinking Machines CEO Mira Murati, Nvidia’s technology serves as the foundation of the AI ecosystem. She noted that collaborating with Nvidia boosts their capacity to create AI solutions that are accessible and impactful for people.

Founded in early 2025, Thinking Machines is an AI research and product company dedicated to making advanced AI accessible, customizable, and beneficial to all.

The team, composed of creators of widely used AI tools like ChatGPT and PyTorch, emphasizes collaboration with the global research community, real-world testing, and open sharing of methods, models, and data.

Their new long-term, gigawatt-scale partnership with Nvidia is expected to fuel ambitious research, multimodal AI development, and safer, more adaptable AI systems that will create genuine value for society.

Michael Saylor’s Strategy, the world’s largest public holder of Bitcoin, sold a record amount of its perpetual preferred equity, Stretch (STRC), after amending its sales rules on Monday.

Strategy is estimated to have bought 1,420 Bitcoin ($BTC) in a single day after selling roughly 2.4 million STRC shares through its at-the-market (ATM) program, according to data from STRC.live. The amount marks the largest estimated daily issuance of STRC and $BTC purchases, surpassing the previous record of 1,069 $BTC, according to a Monday X post from STRC.live.

Strategy announced a major rule change to its at-the-market (ATM) share sales program on Monday, allowing a second agent to sell the securities before the US market opens and after it closes, easing a prior restriction limiting such sales to one agent per trading day.

Following the buzz around Ripple’s recent milestone, where the leading blockchain firm achieved over $100 billion in payment volume, Reece Merrick, a senior executive at Ripple has highlighted the impressive growth of the Ripple stablecoin, $RLUSD, over the period.

While Ripple’s USD ($RLUSD) has continued to serve as a highly regulated stablecoin since its launch in 2025, the asset just hit $1 billion market capitalization less than a year after its launch.

Merrick highlighted the growth, attributing it to the rapid expansion of the use of the stablecoin worldwide.

$RLUSD gains spotlight amid 733% surge

Merrick has pointed out that stablecoins, especially $RLUSD, are gaining mainstream appeal amid growing institutional interests and surging use cases for cross-border transactions.

The executive notes that cross-border B2B payments conducted through stablecoins have surged by 733%, reaching $226 billion in global flows.

With Ripple’s backing, $RLUSD has become a top choice among companies turning to blockchain for financial settlements given its ability to reduce foreign exchange costs.

Apart from cross-border settlements, Merrick further stressed that $RLUSD, alongside other stablecoins, is increasingly gaining traction in several other financial use cases, including remittances, payroll automation and corporate treasury management.

As the crypto industry continues to evolve, stablecoins are becoming particularly important in emerging markets as they are increasingly used as a hedge against inflation and currency volatility.
