The White House will host a meeting with executives from cryptocurrency and prediction market companies on Aug. 19, Politico reported on Aug. 13.

President Donald Trump and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chair Mike Selig will make remarks at the meeting, Semafor reported on Aug. 15.

Executives from crypto firms Coinbase (Nasdaq: COIN), a16z, Ripple, and Chainlink will attend the White House meeting, per Semafor. Popular prediction market Kalshi and its backer Paradigm will also send executives to the meeting.

The meeting will take place at 2:30 PM ET today as the Clarity Act failed to make any progress this season.

The bitcoin-focused company built a sizable cash reserve as its debt and preferred-equity obligations continue to grow.

Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, has added a $1.59 billion cash pool to its corporate balance sheet, CryptoBriefing reported. The addition arrives as the company contends with financing pressures linked to its aggressive bitcoin accumulation strategy.

Strategy has spent years converting corporate cash and borrowed capital into bitcoin holdings. The company has relied on a mix of convertible notes, senior notes, and preferred stock offerings to fund those purchases. Each instrument carries its own repayment or dividend obligations, which require the company to manage liquidity carefully over time.

Building a large cash reserve can serve several purposes for a company in Strategy's position. It can provide a buffer against interest payments, preferred dividend distributions, or upcoming debt maturities. It can also give management flexibility to respond to market conditions without being forced to sell bitcoin holdings at an inopportune time.

The timing of the cash pool addition is notable given broader concerns about financing costs across companies that have adopted bitcoin treasury strategies. BNB Chain activates Pasteur hard fork to strengthen bridge security
$BNB Smart Chain (BSC) activated its Pasteur hard fork on Tuesday, closing bridge verification and validator authorization gaps while introducing a new route intended to fit more transactions into each block.

In a Tuesday post, $BNB Chain confirmed that Pasteur was live on the BSC mainnet. The team said the upgrade strengthens the network’s bridge, staking and governance security while giving blocks more capacity without changing its 450-millisecond block time.

The upgrade combines three $BNB Evolution Proposals. BEP-682 rejects duplicate validator entries during cross-chain light-block verification, while BEP-695 tightens controls involving validator key rotation, slashing and governance voting. Furthermore, BEP-675 changes how specialist builders submit blocks to validators.

The upgrade prevents validators from being counted more than once in bridge approvals, removes authority from old validator keys and blocks restricted addresses from voting, while aiming to fit more transactions into blocks during busy periods.

According to the data, Wintermute’s total open perpetual position size is approximately $217.49 million. Of this, $211.53 million is short positions and $5.96 million is long positions.

The company’s unrealized losses from open positions are currently approximately $4.12 million. In contrast, Wintermute has generated approximately $2.27 million in revenue from funding payments.
