According to information shared by the on-chain data platform Lookonchain, the address sent 500 Bitcoin to the crypto financial services company NYDIG approximately five hours ago. The total value of the transfer is estimated to be around $38.2 million.

Market experts note that such large-scale transfers are generally considered preparatory actions before a sale. Mining companies, in particular, are known to divest their $BTC assets periodically to cover operational costs or realize profits. Digital asset company Bakkt completed its acquisition of stablecoin infrastructure firm Distributed Technologies Research (DTR) through an equity-based transaction as part of its bid to create a digital settlement layer.

Bakkt CEO Akshay Naheta said on Thursday that the deal aims to combine Bakkt’s institutional infrastructure with DTR’s native artificial intelligence payments engine and stablecoin technology to create a 24/7 digital settlement layer.

“The architecture of money movement rarely evolves at this level,” he said. “This transaction accelerates the re-platforming of global financial infrastructure. Interoperability was the second major adoption theme. LayerZero’s announced integration with Cardano and Midnight connects the ecosystem to more than 160 blockchains and over $80 billion in omnichain assets, according to the report. IO called it “the single largest interoperability unlock in the ecosystem’s history,” with particular relevance for Midnight’s selective disclosure and zero-knowledge proof architecture.

The report also cited several external milestones around the Cardano ecosystem, including CME Group’s launch of Cardano futures in February, Coinbase adding ada as collateral for on-chain loans, Midnight’s mainnet launch, and ada acceptance at 137 SPAR stores in Switzerland.
