Data shows the crypto Fear & Greed Index is still inside the extreme fear territory despite the recovery that Bitcoin and other coins have made.

Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index Is Still Pointing At ‘Extreme Fear’
The “Fear & Greed Index” is an indicator created by Alternative that tells us about the average sentiment present among traders in the Bitcoin and wider cryptocurrency markets. The index takes into account for the data of the following five factors to determine the investor mentality: trading volume, market cap dominance, volatility, social media sentiment, and Google Trends.

To represent the market sentiment, the metric makes use of a numerical scale running from zero to hundred. All values on this scale that lie below 47 correspond to a net sentiment of fear, while those above 53 suggest the dominance of greed among investors. Naturally, the values lying between these two cutoffs imply a neutral mentality.

Besides these three main zones, there are also two ‘extreme’ regions called the extreme fear (25 and under) and extreme greed (above 75). Historically, these two have held significance for the market as they have been where major tops and bottoms have tended to form.

The relationship between prices and sentiment has been an inverse one, however, with tops appearing during extreme greed and bottoms alongside extreme fear.

Recently, the crypto sector has been stuck in the latter of the two, as the below chart shows.

Bitcoin has spent much of 2026 moving between recovery attempts and macro shocks, yet one part of the market has kept moving in a single direction. Large holders have been buying.



On April 16, Bitfinex highlighted CryptoQuant data showing whales accumulated 270,000 BTC over the previous 30 days, the largest buying spree since 2013, while exchange reserves fell to their lowest level since December 2017.

That combination carries more weight than usual, pointing to a market where available supply is thinning beneath the surface, even while price remains far below the October 2025 all-time high of $126,198.

Ethena eyes $0.12 breakout as bullish momentum builds


Over the past few days, the Ethena ($ENA) token has recorded multiple gains in the range of 8% to 15%, lifting its price from around $0.09 to approximately $0.11.

This steady climb reflects a broader shift in short-term sentiment, with bulls gradually regaining control after weeks of weakness.

What stands out now is how price action is approaching a level that many consider decisive: $0.12.

Ethena ($ENA) bullish momentum builds

$ENA is now trading above its 20-day moving average near $0.0909 and its 50-day moving average around $0.0992.

Holding above both levels typically signals that short and medium-term momentum has turned positive.

Over a 7-day period, $ENA has gained more than 20%, with a single-day move of 15% today.

Still, the bigger picture is not fully bullish yet. $ENA remains well below its 200-day moving average, which sits close to $0.23.

This highlights the distance the asset still needs to cover before any long-term trend reversal can be confirmed.

For now, the $0.12 level has emerged as the immediate barrier.

Price has tested this zone but has not yet secured a strong close above it.

Until that happens, the rally remains in a build-up phase rather than a confirmed breakout.

Technical signals point to a possible breakout

Several technical patterns suggest that $ENA is nearing a turning point.

One of them is the formation of a “bullish gap,” created when the price jumped quickly on strong demand.

Such gaps often indicate aggressive buying, though they can also be revisited if momentum slows.

In addition, some traders are pointing to a “Power of Three” structure, a pattern that moves through accumulation, manipulation, and expansion phases.

Based on current price behaviour, $ENA appears to be transitioning into the expansion phase, where breakouts typically occur.

Bitcoin’s ceasefire boost is starting to fizzle out as investors look for real-world results


Bitcoin's price action signals the momentum from U.S.–Iran ceasefire headlines is fading and markets are looking for substantive progress that could unwind war-driven stress across the global economy.

The largest cryptocurrency briefly topped $76,000 early today, only to fall back in a repeat of Tuesday's choppy pattern. The stall follows a 10% climb, predominantly driven by news of the Iran-U.S. ceasefire from a week ago.

However, while optimism persists and President Donald Trump suggests the conflict is nearing an end, progress in negotiations to restore oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz, a chokepoint that accounted for 20% of global flows before the war began, remains limited.

"A ceasefire extension alone is no longer enough. Markets need tangible progress such as restored energy flows, compression in crude premia, and clearer disinflation," QCP Capital, one of the largest digital asset market makers in the world, said in an email.

"Until then, this remains a story of partial normalization rather than full repair. Constructive, but not yet comfortable."

Traders should keep an eye on oil prices, as signs of normalization are likely to be evident in energy markets first. WTI recently traded near the weekly low of $87.50 and Brent around $90, a level it has held since April 8.

The continued decline in bitcoin and ether's 30-day implied volatility indexes suggests traders expect material progress soon.

In the meantime, solana (SOL) and could see increased volatility as open futures contracts tied to these tokens have climbed to multiweek highs. The increases point to rising demand for leveraged exposure, which often amplifies price swings through liquidations and heightened market turbulence.

Israel has stated it will not withdraw from southern Lebanon, while Iranian-backed Hezbollah has indicated it will only abide by the ceasefire if Israeli attacks cease completely. This delicate balance in Lebanon remains a crucial bargaining chip in the comprehensive peace talks with Iran.
