The rally triggered a massive short squeeze in the crypto market, with over $530 million in liquidations recorded within 24 hours. Around 80 percent of these liquidations were short positions, primarily in Bitcoin and Ether, indicating that many traders betting on price declines were forced to exit their positions.

According to market data, nearly 177,000 traders were liquidated during this period, highlighting the strength of the sudden upward move. Analysts suggest that this surge is largely driven by derivatives trading activity rather than strong spot market demand.

Despite the price jump, some experts caution that this may not represent a true breakout. Instead, they describe it as a short squeeze pushing prices into resistance levels, where strong selling pressure still exists.

Bitcoin briefly touched levels just below $75,000 but faced immediate resistance and pulled back slightly. Meanwhile, Ether outperformed with a stronger daily gain, reaching multi-week highs.

The rally is also being supported by broader macro factors, including optimism surrounding a possible easing of geopolitical tensions between the US and Iran. Such developments tend to increase investor appetite for risk assets like cryptocurrencies.

While the short-term momentum appears bullish, analysts remain cautious, suggesting that the market could still face volatility and potential corrections in the near term.
