According to the latest report, Bitwise has taken a step closer toward the launch of its proposed spot Hyperliquid (HYPE) exchange-traded fund (ETF) after filing a second amendment with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

Bitwise Updates List Of Countertrading Parties In Hyperliquid ETF Filing
On Friday, April 10th, Bitwise submitted its second amendment to its spot Hyperliquid with the SEC, introducing new names to the list of approved trading counterparties ahead of an imminent launch in the US. This latest filing included FalconX, Flowdesk, Nonco, and Wintermute as approved trading counterparties for the asset manager.

Earlier in its first amendment filing in December 2025, Bitwise revealed the fund’s BHYP ticker, an annual management fee of 0.67%, and a proposal to generate additional profit through HYPE staking. Also, the asset management fund had listed three trading counterparties at the time, including A1 (now dropped off), Nonco, and Solios (disclosed as a d/b/a of FalconX).

In a post on the social media platform, Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas highlighted the second amendment filing, saying that this latest update suggests that the fund’s launch might be imminent. Despite competition from two other asset managers, Bitwise looks set to win the race for the first spot ETF linked to Hyperliquid’s native token, HYPE.

21Shares followed with an application of its own to launch a Hyperliquid ETF in October 2025, while Grayscale submitted its own filing in late March 2026. Upon approval (which looks like a matter of when rather than if), Bitwise’s HYPE ETF will debut on the NYSE Arca stock exchange and offer investors exposure to the spot price of Hyperliquid.

‘Mega Crash Coming’ For XRP, Pundit Warns Even Amid $7 XRP Price Outlook
A prominent technical analyst warns that XRP may be on the verge of a sharp, potentially severe decline, despite recent fund flows.

The analyst highlighted an ascending triangle pattern on the logarithmic scale and stressed that the structure outweighs short-term chatter. The move from the pattern points to an initial non-log target of $4–$7. Longer-term cycle and Fibonacci extensions open the door to $13–$27, with a broader macro repricing scenario that could eventually push the price toward $100.

Yet the immediate setup carries downside risk. The analyst’s headline warning of a “mega crash coming” underscores the possibility that a breakdown in the current consolidation could precede any sustained advance, especially if key support levels fail to hold amid broader market volatility.

The caution arrives just after XRP captured the lion’s share of last week’s rebound in digital-asset investment products. Global crypto ETPs recorded $224 million in inflows, reversing the prior week’s $414 million outflow. Switzerland drove the bulk of the buying, contributing roughly $157 million, or about 70% of the total. Meanwhile, Germany and the United States each added around $28 million, and Canada added $11 million.

XRP products alone accounted for more than half of the global inflows, at approximately $120 million, the token’s strongest weekly inflow since mid-December 2025. U.S. spot XRP ETFs, by contrast, showed virtually no net activity, with total assets across the five listed products sitting at $940 million.

At press time, CoinMarketCap data shows XRP down 0.49% to $1.33 in 24h, slightly underperforming the market rally, which was primarily driven by a macro lift in risk assets following a mixed U.S. inflation report.

As the war with Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz push oil prices higher, inflation is once again becoming a central concern for global investors.
In the U.S., inflation recently accelerated to around 0.9%, mainly driven by rising energy costs linked to Middle East tensions. Interestingly, core inflation (excluding food and energy) came in slightly below expectations, while February’s headline increase was around 0.3%, showing a mixed but still fragile inflation picture.
Against this backdrop, Michael Ashton, co-founder of the USDi stablecoin alongside Andrew Fately, argues that current crypto monetary design still has a major gap.
According to Ashton, the rapid growth of stablecoins has only solved part of the financial system inside crypto. In his view, they have successfully created a medium of exchange, but not a true store of value.
“The stablecoin boom has accidentally rebuilt only half of the monetary system,” he explained in an interview with CoinDesk. “Stablecoins solved the medium-of-exchange problem for crypto, but nobody solved the store-of-value problem.”
Today’s stablecoin market—worth roughly $300 billion and dominated by USD-pegged tokens—has become a core infrastructure layer for trading, payments, and liquidity across crypto markets. However, most of these assets are backed by cash or short-term Treasury bills, meaning they are designed to maintain a fixed $1 value rather than preserve real purchasing power over time.
As inflation rises, this creates a hidden risk. Although stablecoins appear “stable” in nominal terms, their real value can slowly erode. Ashton argues that institutions such as treasuries, neobanks, and cross-border payment platforms may already be exposed to inflation risk without fully pricing it in.
