New data shows that tens of thousands of people have been affected after hackers attacked a healthcare firm and accessed sensitive patient information.According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, Utah-based Rocky Mountain Associated Physicians recently reported a hacking incident affecting 50,640 individuals, with the breach involving a network server.In a separate report, HIPAA Journal says a forensic investigation determined that on February 2, 2026 that an unauthorized actor accessed certain systems, including a database containing protected health information belonging to current and former patients.According to the report, the compromised data may have included names, dates of birth, contact information, Social Security numbers, medical record numbers, diagnosis and treatment information and health insurance details. For some individuals, the exposed data may have also included financial information such as debit and credit card numbers and PINs.HIPAA Journal also reports that a ransomware group claimed responsibility for the attack and listed the organization on a dark web leak site after a ransom was not paid, with data allegedly published online.In response to the incident, the company says it engaged third-party cybersecurity experts to investigate the breach and implement additional safeguards to help prevent similar events in the future.Affected individuals are being notified of the incident and have been offered complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services.Generated Image: Midjourney

Iran has temporarily reopened the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping following a U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, sparking cautious optimism in global markets. However, Tehran issued a stark warning that the critical waterway could close again if the United States maintains its naval blockade of Iranian ports.Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi confirmed via social media that all commercial vessels were permitted to transit the strait for the duration of the 10-day truce. The ceasefire came after weeks of conflict that began when Israel invaded Lebanon following Hezbollah's military support of Iran. The fighting has claimed thousands of lives and effectively shut down one of the world's most vital energy corridors since late February.President Donald Trump praised the development, calling it a remarkable moment for global peace. Yet contradictions quickly emerged. Trump confirmed the U.S. naval blockade would remain in place until a comprehensive deal with Iran is finalized, while Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf warned that the strait would not stay open under those conditions. Iran also mandated that all vessels coordinate with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps before passage, a new requirement that raised concerns among international shipping companies.Despite initial optimism, vessel tracking data showed roughly 20 ships attempting to cross the strait on Friday evening, with most ultimately turning back for reasons that remained unclear.Global financial markets responded positively, with oil prices dropping approximately 10% and stock markets climbing on hopes of restored energy flows. Still, unresolved disputes over Iran's nuclear program continue to cloud negotiations. The U.S. demanded a 20-year suspension of all Iranian nuclear activity, while Iran proposed a much shorter three-to-five year pause.

Most analysts had ruled out the ‘4-Year Cycle’ for Bitcoin [$BTC], saying the narrative was dead. Among them is James Lavish, a partner at the Bitcoin Opportunity Fund.

James Lavish claimed last year that a liquidity cycle drove the price, rendering Bitcoin halving cycles irrelevant. He admitted he was mistaken when $BTC went on to hit a new high of $126K. Lavish said,

I thought the four-year cycle was dead. I declared it dead last year. I was wrong

Bitcoin started to turn in the 4-year cycle when prices got up over $100K, solidifying the narrative last year. Several Bitcoin OGs sitting on tens of thousands of $BTC coins started selling relentlessly, monetizing all the wealth they accumulated over the years.

From those actions, Lavish said Bitcoin was the only rational exit as the US debt spiraled to new heights, tipping $BTC to make a new high in 2026.

Monad Price Analysis: MON Triple Top Structure Concerns Amid 7% Drop
Monad has formed a triple top on lower timeframes, raising concerns of further short-term weakness. What is the possible target?


While other altcoins are showing signs of recovery, Monad (MON) is correcting. Over the past 24 hours, the coin has dropped over 7% to $0.0336 after failing at a crucial price level again.

Notably, this move began recently. While MON is down 7% in the past seven days, it has increased by 38% over the last 30 days and 46% since the start of the year.
Accompanying this price pullback is a drop in trading volume. In the past 24 hours, trading volume has declined by 3% as market participants prefer to stay on the sidelines and observe Monad’s price trend.

Polkadot recovers 17% after Hyperbridge exploit: Will DOT’s gains continue?

 The Hyperbridge exploit caused Polkadot [$DOT] to lose a significant portion of its market cap, but it has since fully recovered.

 The altcoin’s price crashed after a hacker minted 1 billion $DOT tokens on Ethereum [$ETH] but only sold them for $237K due to lack of liquidity.  The team clarified that the actual loss had ballooned to $2.5 million as the team made efforts to recover the funds.

 However, the assurance that Polkadot’s core network security remained intact fueled a 17% price recovery.

 What drove $DOT’s price recovery?

 A statement released by the team after the exploit assured users of security, as the core network had not been affected.  It’s the bridged $DOT tokens on Ethereum.

 As a result, the community sentiment returned to 82% bullish from 954.1K voters, as per CoinMarketCap.  Consequently, the price of the altcoin rallied from $1.146 to $1.354.

 The relief brought about a rebound in network activity.  As per Artemis data, the number of transactions increased by 1,400, from 10.5K to 11.9K, in just one day.

 Additionally, daily active users (DAU) increased by 1.67x even though the figures remained relatively low.  DAU rose from 3,000 to 5,000, indicating users were gradually returning to the network.

 The Total Value Locked (TVL) also experienced a surge of about 11.29% in a day, while the stablecoin market cap grew to $77.83 million after the massive drop.

 Moreover, the altcoin commanded a significant amount of daily trading volume of about $403 million.  However, the revenue of the network remained low as it attempted to get back on its feet.
