Coinbase’s AI payments protocol x402 launches app store for AI agents
Coinbase-backed artificial intelligence payments standard x402 has launched a marketplace for apps and services to boost the usefulness of AI agents.

Coinbase product lead Nick Prince said in a video posted on X on Monday that the idea behind the platform, called Agentic.market, was to “give humans and their agents access to thousands of services, with zero API keys required.”

Prince, in a separate post, said the market was a “storefront for discovering, comparing, and using x402 services” and offers access to a wide variety of apps and websites that AI agents can use, such as CoinGecko, Google Flights and the social media site X.

He added that hundreds of thousands of AI agents have transacted hundreds of millions in volume, but AI agent users have “relied on fragmented sources and word-of-mouth” to find compatible services.

The x402 protocol, launched by Coinbase in May 2025, allows AI agents to make internet payments using stablecoins and has seen growing support as many companies believe AI technology will become more involved in commerce.

Prince said the marketplace has a web interface “for humans to browse and evaluate services” and a programming layer that allows AI agents access to the platform to “search, filter, and integrate new capabilities autonomously at runtime without a human in the loop.”

The platform provides an AI agent with “skills,” or code on how to use a service, along with a wallet that gives it the ability to “buy services and also sell services,” Prince added.

From a technical standpoint, Bitcoin’s [$BTC] 10% move so far could just be the early leg of a setup similar to 2025, where Q2 closed with 30% gains. If we get a repeat of that structure, $BTC could still be on track to finish Q2 somewhere in the $85k–$90k range. In that case, the $65k–$70k zone would likely stand out as a local bottom for this cycle.

The key question now is whether on-chain signals support that range as a potential local bottom. At the macro level, $BTC started the week by breaking below the $75k level as uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz picks up again, adding pressure to the “bottom is in” narrative. That pressure is now starting to show up in on-chain metrics as well.

As the chart shows, $BTC hasn’t yet seen full-blown capitulation.

From a long-term holder perspective, only 28.89% are currently sitting in unrealized losses, a setup that has historically triggered panic once that figure moves into the 40-45% range, marking the start of an accumulation phase. Technically speaking, that suggests $BTC may still have room for further downside before a bottom is in. And with macro FUD still around, that structure hasn’t really been invalidated yet.

Moreover, derivatives are starting to look a bit stretched. Coinglass data shows $BTC longs outnumber shorts by about 3:2, meaning the market is still leaning bullish on leverage. Put together, macro FUD, weak technicals, and crowded longs suggest the market is still vulnerable. With LTHs still underwater in parts of the move, capitulation risk isn’t off the table yet. That keeps the $65k–$70k range under pressure.

Naturally, the question arises: Is the $85k–$90k Q2 target for Bitcoin too ambitious?

Borrowers can access up to $5 million in USDC depending on the value of their pledged assets. Loans have no fixed repayment schedule, but positions may be liquidated if collateral ratios fall below required thresholds, with penalties applied through the protocol.
The UK rollout follows strong adoption in the United States, where Coinbase has already facilitated more than $2.17 billion in USDC loan originations since the product launched. The expansion reflects growing demand for crypto-backed credit as investors seek liquidity without exiting long-term positions.

The company added that some environment variables that were not marked as sensitive may have been exposed. Vercel said environment variables marked as sensitive are stored in a way that prevents them from being read, and it said it has no evidence those protected values were accessed. Still, the company urged customers to review logs and rotate secrets that were not protected.

Crypto apps rush to rotate keys

The incident drew attention in crypto because many teams use Vercel to host apps, dashboards, and front ends tied to wallets, trading tools, and onchain services. CoinDesk reported that crypto developers moved quickly to lock down API keys after the breach. That matters because exposed environment variables can include tokens, database credentials, and signing keys that are often tied to app operations.

Vercel itself gave the same warning in its bulletin. It told users to treat any secrets stored in non sensitive environment variables as potentially exposed and rotate them as a priority. The company also advised customers to inspect account and environment activity logs for suspicious behavior and check recent deployments for anything unexpected.
