MON Price Analysis: Triple Top Formation

An analysis of the 4-hour chart calls for greater concern about Monad, as a triple top appears to have formed. A string of price developments in the past few days led to this structure, which, from a price standpoint, does not look too good for near-term trends.
The first top started forming on April 10, after a high of $0.0373. The coin consolidated around this area and then tried another breakout the next day. However, MON peaked at $0.0369, completing the first top formation.

After a wave of sideways price trends, MON attempted to break higher again. It peaked at $0.0374 on April 14, forming the second top. Prices were rejected around the same level, and Monad trended lower but tried again a few days later.

On April 16, it rallied again to an intraday high of $0.0375. The token met strong selling supply again and still couldn’t overcome it. From the high, Monad has dropped 10% to its current price level.

Triple tops suggest that an asset has not gained sufficient price momentum to forge ahead to higher prices. Repeated attempts to break above a resistance area have been met with strong rejection, and most of the time, the coin retests lower levels.

SEC charges Donald Basile in $16M crypto fraud tied to ‘insured’ token


The US Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a lawsuit against crypto executive Donald Basile, accusing him and two companies he controlled of raising about $16 million from investors through false claims tied to a so-called “insured” crypto token known as Bitcoin Latinum.

In a complaint filed Friday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York, the SEC alleged that Basile ran the scheme between March and December 2021 through Monsoon Blockchain Corp. and GIBF GP Inc., offering investors Simple Agreements for Future Tokens (SAFTs) that promised future delivery of the token, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.

Regulators said hundreds of investors were told the asset was backed and insured, but the SEC alleged no insurance company ever provided coverage or any proof that these claims were true, per the report.

The case marks one of the few SEC enforcement actions under the Trump administration, which has signaled a more crypto-friendly regulatory stance compared to previous administrations.

Crypto funds spent on luxury

The SEC said Basile repeatedly represented that Bitcoin Latinum was an insured, asset-backed cryptocurrency and that investor funds would help support its underlying value. Instead, the complaint alleges, millions of dollars were diverted to personal spending, including real estate purchases, credit card payments and the acquisition of a $160,000 horse.

The regulator is seeking permanent injunctions, repayment of allegedly ill-gotten gains with interest, civil penalties, and a ban on Basile’s participation in securities offerings, according to the WSJ. It also wants an officer-and-director bar preventing him from leading public companies in the future.

Daily active addresses have surged significantly, rising from around 384,000 to over 730,000 within a short period. This sharp increase reflects stronger user engagement on the Ethereum network, a signal that has historically appeared near major market bottoms before strong rallies. As price pushed toward the $2,300 level, network activity also expanded, reinforcing the bullish narrative.

At the same time, accumulation wallets have been steadily absorbing Ether. These wallets, known for holding without selling, have increased their total holdings by 6.5 million ETH since the start of the year, bringing the total to over 26 million ETH. This represents a 33% increase and highlights growing long-term confidence among investors. Daily inflows into these wallets remain strong, averaging around 200,000 ETH, with notable spikes exceeding 350,000 ETH in a single day.

Another supporting factor is the rise in staked Ether, which has now reached approximately 39.2 million ETH. This continued growth in staking indicates that investors are locking up their holdings rather than selling, effectively reducing liquid supply in the market. Additionally, Ether reserves on exchanges have dropped to multi-year lows, tightening available supply and potentially amplifying price movements during periods of increased demand.
