The decline wasn’t limited to Bitcoin. Ethereum (ETH) fell to $2,750, while Solana (SOL) was also among the major altcoins affected by the sharp sell-off. Overall, the market saw losses of 5-10% in most of the top 10 cryptocurrencies over the past 24 hours.


This decline is attributed to a combination of factors, including the sharp drop in gold and silver prices, the decline in US stocks, geopolitical tensions between the US and Iran, tariff threats, the risk of a US government shutdown, and disappointing earnings figures for technology companies.


This sharp decline negatively impacted futures markets as well, resulting in a large amount of liquidation.


During this decline, over $777 million worth of leveraged long positions were liquidated in just one hour.


According to Coinglass data, $1.68 billion was liquidated in the last 24 hours, with approximately $1.56 billion in long positions and $118.4 million in short positions.


In the last 24 hours, 267,453 investors were liquidated, with the largest single liquidation order occurring on HTX in $BTC-USDT ($80.57 million).

In return, Pendle users received vePENDLE, which represented their stake and voting rights to earn extra perks on top of their locked coins' natural earnings. The coins deposited kept paying their regular yield, with vePENDLE sprinkling bonus rewards without touching the principal.


The catch: once locked, those tokens were inaccessible, creating capital inefficiency.


Now, Pendle has launched sPENDLE – a liquid version of those locked tokens. Users can trade or use sPENDLE freely while still collecting the original rewards.


The change removes the need for users to lock up tokens for years just to earn rewards or participate in governance. Instead, holders will be able to stay liquid, access their funds within days, and still earn protocol rewards — a shift aimed at making Pendle easier to use and more attractive to a wider set of investors.


Under the new model, vePENDLE’s multi-year lockups will be phased out in favor of sPENDLE, which carries a 14-day withdrawal period and can be freely used across decentralized finance applications.


In simple terms, original crypto deposits keep earning base yields, while sPENDLE frees the locked portion, turning "stuck money" into flexible capital for other trades or DeFi plays.

China continues to occupy a leading position in the illicit crypto landscape, particularly as a hub for illicit financial services infrastructure. TRM’s analysis shows that activity linked to Chinese‐language escrow services and underground banking networks has expanded dramatically.

Adjusted crypto volumes associated with these networks grew from roughly $123 million in 2020 to more than $103 billion in 2025, reflecting their increasing scale and influence.
