Amid the latest broader market correction fueled by global economic uncertainty, altcoins were among the hardest-hit assets, with the sector absorbing intense selling pressure as risk appetite rapidly weakened.

However, as capital begins to rotate back into the crypto market, a widely followed pseudonymous analyst believes XRP is emerging as one of the key altcoins to watch amid the current market transition.

In a recent Quicktake post published on the CryptoQuant platform, Darkfost noted that while the altcoin market previously suffered a massive drawdown—shedding over $544 billion as reflected in the Total3 index—the trend now appears to be shifting. 

According to him, capital has begun rotating back into altcoins since early February, with the Total3 market cap recovering roughly $125 billion, hinting at a potential early-stage rebound in broader market momentum.

The analyst further noted that despite signs of improving market conditions, a significant portion of investors remains positioned against the altcoin sector. This cautious sentiment is most visible in XRP’s funding rates, which are currently showing an extended stretch of negative readings, marking one of the longest bearish runs seen in years.
Notably, the Funding Rates indicator reflects the periodic payments exchanged between long and short traders in the XRP derivatives market. When funding rates turn negative, it typically indicates that short positions are dominant, meaning more traders are betting on downside pressure rather than upside momentum. In other words, the current prolonged negative readings suggest a strong bearish sentiment bias, even as broader market conditions show early signs of a potential recovery.

Crypto-Friendly Kevin Warsh Confirmed as Fed Chair to Replace Jerome Powell

Kevin Warsh, President Donald Trump's pick to lead the Federal Reserve, was confirmed as its new chair Wednesday to replace Jerome Powell.
The U.S. Senate confirmed Kevin Warsh on Wednesday as the next chair of the Federal Reserve, clearing a pathway for him to take over the central bank’s reins.

Following months of tension marked by President Donald Trump’s pressure campaign against Fed Chair Jerome Powell, lawmakers voted 54-45 in favor of Warsh. A Department of Justice investigation into Powell, recently closed, had become a barrier for some officials in supporting Warsh’s nomination.

Although Warsh has called some crypto projects fraudulent and worthless, he disclosed earlier this year investments in crypto-native projects such as Polymarket and Solana. In an interview published earlier this year, he also said that Bitcoin “does not make me nervous.”
The price of Bitcoin was little changed following Warsh’s confirmation, hovering around $79,500, according to CoinGecko.
Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) was among pro-crypto politicians that welcomed the Senate’s confirmation of Warsh. She said in an X post that “American businesses and digital asset holders finally have a leader at the Fed who is ready to deliver it.”

Last month, Warsh affirmed to Lummis during a Senate hearing that he thinks digital assets should be incorporated into America’s finance industry. Warsh said that digital assets are “already part of the fabric of our financial services industry.”

As of March 31, the firm held more than 5,000 BTC valued at approximately $345 million and sold 284 BTC to cover operating costs.

Nakamoto Inc., the Bitcoin treasury company founded and led by entrepreneur David Bailey, reported during the first quarter of 2026. The decline in the value of its BTC holdings and a series of non-cash losses drove the period’s negative result.

According to the company’s earnings release, the primary cause of the poor results was a $102.5 million mark-to-market loss, stemming from bitcoin’s price decline from $87,519 to $68,220 during the quarter. Added to that was a $107.7 million non-cash charge tied to a call option that predated the company’s acquisition. Additionally, Nakamoto recorded approximately $8 million in transaction and integration costs related to recent acquisitions.

Bitcoin is trading near a key short-term zone as analysts track both wave support and CME gap levels. The charts show $BTC stuck below stronger resistance, while $76,527 remains the main level that could decide whether the current recovery setup survives.
Bitcoin Price Faces Key $76,527 Support as $BTC Tests Short Term Wave Setup
Bitcoin is trying to hold support near the $79,000 area, but the chart shared by More Crypto Online shows that $BTC may still face more downside before a clear wave (2) bottom forms.
The BTCUSD 15-minute chart places Bitcoin around $79,052. Price has already moved below the nearby support zone after failing to hold the upper range near $82,000. This weakness keeps the short-term structure under pressure.

More Crypto Online said he is “not confident” that wave (2) has bottomed yet. As a result, the blue scenario on the chart still points to possible further downside in the coming sessions.

The most important level is $76,527. This level marks the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement and acts as key support for the 1-2 setup to the upside. If $BTC holds above this zone, the bullish wave count can remain active.
However, a clean break below $76,527 would weaken that upside setup. It would suggest that the correction is deeper than expected and could delay any short-term recovery attempt.
The chart also marks other Fibonacci levels at $78,762 and $77,832. Bitcoin is now trading near the 50% retracement area, while the 61.8% level sits lower at $77,832. These levels may act as short-term reaction zones before price reaches the deeper support area.
For now, Bitcoin needs to reclaim the broken support near $79,000 to reduce short-term pressure. Until that happens, the chart keeps the downside path open, with $76,527 as the main level that decides whether the current 1-2 upside structure stays valid.
