BTQ Technologies запускает тестовую сеть Bitcoin с квантовой защитой

Компания BTQ Technologies выпустила версию v0.3.0 тестовой сети Bitcoin Quantum. Ключевым нововведением является первая рабочая реализация BIP-360 — стандарта P2MR, предназначенного для защиты транзакций от атак квантовых компьютеров.

Хотя BIP-360 уже включен в официальный репозиторий предложений по улучшению Bitcoin, работа над ним в клиенте Bitcoin Core практически отсутствует. BTQ опередила основную сеть, превратив теоретическое предложение в работающий код.
BIP-360 устраняет уязвимость в Taproot, которая раскрывает открытые ключи в блокчейне. Это делает их потенциально уязвимыми для алгоритма Шора на квантовых компьютерах в будущем.

Новый тип вывода P2MR позволяет использовать скрипты Taproot (необходимые для Lightning Network, BitVM и Ark), но исключает возможность расходования пути ключа.  Вместо этого система записывает обязательства в корень дерева Меркла без использования закрытого ключа. Обновление также активирует постквантовые подписи Dilithium — стандарт, одобренный NIST.
Разработчики представили полностью функциональный кошелек CLI. Теперь пользователи могут создавать, подписывать и отправлять транзакции P2MR в тестовой сети.

Компания BTQ Technologies поделилась показателями активности в тестовой сети:

более 50 майнеров присоединились к сети;

добыто более 100 000 блоков;

время создания блока сокращено до 1 минуты для ускорения тестирования.

Генеральный директор компании Оливье Русси Ньютон отметил, что отрасль не может позволить себе ждать кризиса, чтобы начать тестирование. Bitcoin Quantum был создан как полигон для проверки защиты до того, как квантовая угроза станет реальной.

Компания также раскрыла планы монетизации: запуск майнингового пула с комиссией 3% и накопление токенов BTQ на балансе компании.

Zenith links Canton and Ethereum through atomic swaps
Zenith, a project that recently emerged from stealth, supports atomic transactions between the Canton Network and the Zenith EVM.

Canton developers previously said supporting programming languages outside of its native Digital Asset Modeling Language could open Canton to a wider pool of developers. 

Zenith, the newly launched blockchain and execution layer specifically designed to integrate Ethereum-compatible environments into the Canton Network, said it has successfully completed atomic transactions between the Canton Network and the Zenith EVM, marking its "first technical milestone."

"The test verified that Ethereum-style smart contract execution can operate in coordination with Canton's institutional-grade infrastructure (processing $9T+ in monthly volume), enabling programmable applications to interact directly with regulated financial workflows,” the team wrote in an announcement. 

The Canton Network is a public, permissionless Layer 1 blockchain that integrates strong privacy and compliance features geared for institutional finance. The blockchain is supported by a consortium of major players, including Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Börse, CBOE, Microsoft, Moody's, and Deloitte, among others. 

Canton sometimes describes itself as "the first privacy-enabled open blockchain network," capable of connecting previously siloed financial systems while preserving data privacy and control.

However, Zenith argues Canton's theoretical interoperability and composability has been limited due to its reliance on its primary smart contract language, Digital Asset Modeling Language, better known as Daml. Both Daml and Canton were developed by the Goldman Sachs-backed Digital Asset.

Shiba Inu Spot ETF Finally Within Reach as SEC Deems SHIB a Commodity

Shiba Inu (SHIB) might become the second meme coin to get a spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) after Dogecoin. This comes after the US securities regulator issued a clarification stating that SHIB and other digital assets are classified as commodities. Meanwhile, a $1.8 trillion asset manager recently issued an updated filing for an ETF that includes SHIB.

Months after Dogecoin ETFs started trading, asset managers are now seeking to give their clients exposure to the second-largest meme coin, SHIB. T. Rowe Price, an asset manager with $1.8 trillion in assets under management, has submitted an amended S-1 filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission for a Price Active Crypto ETF.

This ETF will give holders exposure to various crypto assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Dogecoin, and Shiba Inu. If the SEC approves this product, it will make it easier for institutions to get exposure to SHIB.

The launch of spot Dogecoin ETFs has proven that if an SHIB ETF launches, it could amass inflows. According to SoSoValue, the three spot DOGE ETFs that are currently trading have amassed more than $10 million in net assets. This is notably higher than the Canary’s Litecoin ETF, which has amassed $6.71 million in net assets since its launch.

According to CoinMarketCap, the widely followed Crypto Fear and Greed Index has dropped from 20 (“Fear”) to 18, slipping back into “Extreme Fear.” Although the index briefly spiked to 25 on Wednesday, geopolitical tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran have dampened risk appetite, pushing sentiment downward again.
The index hit a yearly low of 5 in February, amid multiple headwinds including macroeconomic uncertainty, interest rate policy concerns, tightening liquidity, and rising US government debt. Since Bitcoin’s crash of over 50% in October 2025, the crypto market has remained in a bear trend. While BTC has staged a modest recovery, hundreds of billions of dollars have been wiped from the altcoin market.
Altcoins have been hit the hardest. Around 38% of altcoins are hovering near all-time lows—worse than the aftermath of the FTX collapse. Trading volume has fallen roughly 50%, and mentions of altcoins on social media have dropped to a two-year low. In February 2026, global Google searches for “Bitcoin going to zero” reached their highest level since 2022, underscoring the low investor confidence reflected in other sentiment indicators.
Overall, the market remains highly cautious. With geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainties continuing to mount, crypto assets are likely to face ongoing pressure in the near term.

Bitcoin fell 5.5% to around $70,000 on Thursday afternoon in Asia, tracking a broader risk-off move across global markets.

Bitcoin (BTC) and other major cryptocurrencies fell sharply on Thursday, tracking a broader risk-off move across global markets, as investors reacted to hotter-than-expected U.S. inflation data, hawkish signals from the Federal Reserve, and rising geopolitical tensions.

Bitcoin briefly dipped to $69,969 on Thursday afternoon in Asia, before recovering back above the $70,000 level, according to The Block's BTC price page. The world's largest cryptocurrency is down 5.5% over the past 24 hours and has retreated more than 43% from its all-time high near $124,700 in October 2025. 

​​Ethereum dropped 6.9% to $2,159, while the GMCI 30 index, which tracks the top 30 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, fell about 5.4%.

The crypto selloff coincided with a sharp decline in Asia-Pacific equities, which tracked overnight losses on Wall Street. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 1.6% at closing on Wednesday, while the Nasdaq Composite lost 1.5%. 

Japan's Nikkei 225 led regional losses, falling 3.4%. South Korea’s Kospi slid 2.7%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index and China's CSI 300 also posted losses.

Macro pressures intensified after the Federal Reserve held its benchmark interest rate steady at 3.5% to 3.75%. Data released this week also showed the U.S. producer price index rose 0.7% in February, more than double economists' expectations of 0.3%, CNBC reported.

The Iran conflict also continued to fuel energy concerns, pushing oil prices higher. Brent crude rose about 7.4% to around $115 per barrel, while WTI crude gained roughly 1.2% to $97.50.

This forward-looking strategy suggests Ripple views XRP not as a diminishing asset but as a key component for future financial innovation. CEO Brad Garlinghouse has even referred to XRP as the company's "north star," emphasizing its strategic importance.
