The earlier ~10% rally, fueled by news of a U.S.–Iran ceasefire, is gradually fading as markets shift away from sentiment-driven moves and toward confirming real macroeconomic recovery signals.
Institutional analysts suggest that a ceasefire alone is not sufficient to sustain further upside in risk assets. Investors are now focusing on more concrete drivers such as energy supply restoration, declining crude oil risk premiums, and easing inflation pressures.
A key focus remains the recovery of oil transportation through the Strait of Hormuz, which previously handled around 20% of global crude flows before the conflict. Its normalization is seen as critical for broader market stability.
In energy markets, WTI crude has pulled back to around $87.5, while Brent remains near $90, reflecting cautious expectations around supply normalization.
Derivatives data shows that 30-day implied volatility for both Bitcoin and Ethereum continues to decline, suggesting the market is waiting for clearer macro direction in the near term. Meanwhile, open interest in Solana and DOGE futures has surged to multi-week highs, indicating rising leverage exposure and potential for increased volatility ahead.
Technically, Bitcoin is forming a possible double-top pattern near $76,000. A breakdown below the $73,300 neckline could open a move toward $70,000, while a decisive breakout above $76,000 may extend upside momentum toward $88,000.
Overall, the market remains in a “partial recovery” phase — improving risk appetite is evident, but confirmation from macro fundamentals is still missing, keeping traders focused on energy flows and broader economic data.

Bitcoin Pressure Builds As Miners Dump 32K BTC In Just 3 Months

About 20% of the Bitcoin mining industry is operating at a loss right now. That single fact explains much of what has been unfolding across the sector in early 2026, as publicly traded miners race to sell off holdings just to keep the lights on.

Profits Squeezed To The Bone

Hashprice — the daily revenue a miner earns per unit of computing power — has been sliding since July 2025. It now sits at roughly $33 per petahash per second per day, according to data from Hashrate Index.

The breakeven point for many miners, particularly those running older machines, is around $35. That gap, small as it looks on paper, is pushing a large chunk of the industry into the red.

Major publicly traded miners — among them MARA, CleanSpark, Riot, Cango, Core Scientific, and Bitdeer — collectively offloaded more than 32,000 BTC during the first three months of 2026, according to TheEnergyMag.

That figure eclipses everything those same companies sold across all four quarters of 2025. It also surpasses the previous quarterly record of roughly 20,000 BTC, set during Q2 2022 when the collapse of the Terra-Luna ecosystem sent markets into a tailspin.

Three compounding forces drove miners to that record: a rising network hashrate that has made competition fiercer, reduced block rewards following the most recent halving, and broader economic headwinds that have kept Bitcoin prices under pressure.

The selling in Q1 2026 did not come out of nowhere. Data from CryptoQuant shows that total Bitcoin held by miners across the board has been falling since 2023.

At the close of that year, miners collectively held more than 1.86 million BTC. That number has since dropped to approximately 1.8 million.

President Trump announced Thursday that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire, beginning at 5 PM ET today, following what he described as “excellent conversations” with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. “These two Leaders have agreed that in order to achieve PEACE between their Countries, they will formally begin a 10 Day CEASEFIRE at 5 P.M. EST,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump said he has directed Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine to work toward a lasting peace agreement. He also invited Aoun and Netanyahu to the White House for what he called “the first meaningful talks between Israel and Lebanon since 1983.”

What Led to the Ceasefire

The announcement came after a turbulent morning of diplomacy. Lebanese President Aoun initially declined to speak directly with Netanyahu during a call with Secretary Rubio, with Washington signaling it “understands Lebanon’s position.” Trump then personally called Aoun, and the ceasefire announcement followed within hours.

The deal grew out of direct negotiations that began Tuesday between the Lebanese and Israeli ambassadors to the United States, the first such talks between the two countries in decades. Lebanon had insisted on a ceasefire as a precondition for any broader engagement, while committing to disarm Hezbollah over time.

Collectively, Tether’s charm offensive and Circle’s woes could offer USDT renewed momentum to regain Solana’s stablecoin dominance. Especially if other Solana DeFi platforms also replace USDC with USDT. 

For perspective, the FUD that Tether is an unaudited and unregulated stablecoin issuer partly contributed to USDC’s growth. Since 2022, this has allowed USDC to dominate Solana’s stablecoin supply, hitting a record market share of 80% in early 2025. 

But there has been an ongoing shift.

As of writing, USDC dominance was about 55%, down from the 80% peak. Over the same period, USDT dominance rose from 16% to 21%. Now, Tether is getting ready for an audit as it eyes its U.S. market debut.
