Bitcoin ETFs drew $996.38 million between April 13–17, led by Blackrock’s IBIT with $906.1 million in inflows.

Ether ETFs added $275.83 million, extending a 7-day streak, showing stronger and steadier demand.

XRP gained $55.39 million and Solana $35.17 million, signaling broader ETF participation across ETFs.

Momentum returned quietly, but it did not stay that way. By the end of the week, crypto ETFs had delivered one of their strongest collective performances in recent months, with capital flowing steadily back into the sector and conviction building across multiple assets.

Bitcoin spot ETFs led the charge, recording $996.38 million in net inflows and marking a third consecutive week of gains. The headline number, however, masked a volatile start. Monday opened with a sharp $291 million outflow, driven largely by heavy redemptions from Fidelity’s FBTC and Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB.

That weakness proved temporary. From Tuesday onward, flows turned decisively positive, culminating in a $663.91 million surge on Friday that pushed total net assets back above $100 billion. Blackrock’s IBIT dominated the week, attracting $906.1 million and acting as the primary engine of demand. Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB rebounded strongly to finish with $98.5 million in inflows, while Bitwise’s BITB added $54.1 million.Morgan Stanley’s MSBT emerged as a notable new force. The fund extended its inflow streak to eight consecutive days, accumulating $71.1 million for the week and $133 million since launch, with an average daily inflow of $16.6 million. Its competitive 14 basis point fee structure is already raising questions about how incumbents may respond.

Whale accumulation builds during consolidation Ali Martinez said large holders bought more than $330 million worth of DOGE over the past week. The analyst linked that buying activity to the current consolidation phase, where price has moved in a narrow range without a clear breakout. The analyst said this type of supply absorption can help build a stronger price floor. In his view, the buying trend suggests that bigger market participants are preparing for a possible move higher if resistance breaks. Meanwhile, Dogecoin also recorded a sharp increase in transaction activity on April 16. The FCA raided 8 premises on April 22, 2026, issuing cease and desist letters in the UK’s first P2P crypto crackdown.

SWROCU’s DI Ross Flay cited money laundering risk, with evidence from the raids supporting multiple criminal investigations.

The FCA’s Firm Checker tool remains the primary resource for consumers as enforcement of crypto AML rules intensifies in 2026.

The FCA conducted the inspections alongside HM Revenue and Customs and the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit. At each site, agents issued cease and desist letters ordering traders to halt operations immediately.Peer-to-peer crypto trading involves individuals buying and selling digital assets directly with one another, bypassing a centralized exchange. Under U.K. law, that activity requires FCA registration. Currently, no registered peer-to-peer crypto traders or platforms operate legally in the country.

Evidence gathered during the inspections is now feeding into multiple ongoing criminal investigations.

Steve Smart, executive director of enforcement and market oversight at the FCA, said unregistered peer-to-peer traders are operating illegally and creating financial crime risks. “We will use our powers and work with partners to disrupt them,” Smart stated.

Detective Inspector Ross Flay of SWROCU pointed to money laundering as a central concern. Flay said the goal is to stop illegal traders from giving criminals a route to move, hide, and spend illicit funds.

The action was taken under the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds Regulations 2017, the primary legal framework governing anti-money laundering compliance for crypto firms in the United Kingdom.

Bitcoin Entering Final Bull Trap Below $80k Before a Crash to $52k

Bitcoin is currently trading around $76k at press time, amid strong ETF inflows and declining exchange reserves. However, there is growing sentiment that the current setup is a bull trap for the premier digital currency. Analyst 0xChiefy recently predicted that the premier cryptocurrency will face a rejection around the $80k level before another notable price drop to $52k.

0xChiefy tweeted:

“Bitcoin will hit another rejection at the ~$80K level.

We’re now entering the FINAL bull trap before $BTC drops to $52K.

Position accordingly and don’t let them fool you.”

The analyst is using the Elliot Theory in conjunction with the reliable Fibonacci sequence, which is often used to understand long-term price trends. The Elliot Wave theory suggests that there are recurring patterns in the overall market psychology, including short-term impulsive moves followed by corrective situations. The recent rally from the $60k lows to $78k is classified as an impulsive rally, and a major rejection around the $80k resistance will now confirm this development, opening the door to a significant corrective phase.
The analyst believes that once the prices are near the long-term psychological support of $50k, there will be a good buying opportunity for Bitcoin investors. While it may seem quite low when BTC is trading at a relatively high price of $76k, it is consistent with predictions from other analysts who believe the current price increase is just a short-term uptick that will face rejection at a key resistance level like $80k. 

Fibonacci retracement levels indicate several support zones on the way down, and the analyst has used them to predict a possible bottom around $52k for Bitcoin during this bear market.

The crypto market is on the brink of a major breakout with bitcoin trading at $78,000, the level it failed to breach on Friday and a price it has not topped since January.
