The Bear Case: The Bottom Is Not Here Yet
CryptoQuant published analysis this week showing Bitcoin’s MVRV Z-score has not entered negative territory. Every single bear market bottom in Bitcoin’s history has required it to go below zero. Right now it sits at 0.5.

Analyst Benjamin Cowen put out a realistic bear framework on April 12 pointing to a 70% correction from the $126,000 October peak – implying a potential floor around $37,000-$38,000. CryptoQuant’s own target: $55,000-$60,000 by December 2026, followed by a two-year accumulation phase before the next halving cycle.

Their argument is simple. The bear market has not finished its job yet.

The Bull Case: The Debt Math Changes Everything
Analyst Michaël van de Poppe published a different framework today.

His sigma analysis of every Bitcoin cycle shows bull markets and bear markets are getting weaker symmetrically. The 2024/2025 bull peaked at just +1.5 sigma. The bear has already hit -1.5 sigma – the proportional level that historically marks the end of the correction.

“The sigma-debt has already been paid off in the recent correction,” he wrote. The $30,000 thesis, he argues, applies the wrong historical framework to a cycle that has already structurally changed.

On one side, the S&P 500 is experiencing a powerful “risk-on” rally. It has surged to new all-time highs above 7,000, recovering quickly after earlier geopolitical stress and oil shocks. Big tech and liquidity-heavy stocks are leading the move, pushing the broader market back into a “greed” phase.
But Bitcoin is behaving differently. Instead of breaking out alongside equities, it is stuck in a wide consolidation range, showing weaker momentum compared to its historical pattern where it often rallies together with risk assets.
This “decoupling” is what analysts are focusing on. Traditionally, Bitcoin benefits when investors are willing to take risk. But this time, the missing ingredient appears to be fresh liquidity and strong new inflows into crypto specifically. In other words, money is flowing into equities first, especially mega-cap stocks, while crypto is not yet seeing the same intensity of capital rotation.
Another factor is positioning. Stocks have already gone through a sharp correction and rebound, making the recovery feel more “complete.” Bitcoin, however, has not had a similar breakout phase recently, leaving it in a more neutral, range-bound structure.
The result is a strange split market:

The digital art community was jolted early this morning after the prominent Ethereum-based $NFT platform Foundation halted its operation.

This was due to the reversal of its recent acquisition by digital art gallery company Blackdove.

Blackdove executive Marc Billings announced the difficult decision to "pause our ongoing support of the Foundation platform" and return management to Foundation's original founder, Kayvon Tehranian, for an orderly transition.

Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire has stated that he sees a “big opportunity” for a stablecoin based on the Chinese yuan. In an interview with Reuters, Allaire said that stablecoins are becoming an increasingly important tool in global currency competition and that this technology could support China’s goal of internationalizing the yuan.

According to Allaire, competition in the global financial system has now acquired not only an economic but also a technological dimension. In this context, the development of a yuan-backed stablecoin could make China’s currency more competitive. The Circle CEO stated that China has the potential to launch such a digital asset within the next three to five years.

These statements come amid increasing debate surrounding yuan-based stablecoins. Previously, Chinese tech giants Ant Group and JD.com were reported to have called on the central bank to allow yuan-backed stablecoins.

However, the People’s Bank of China and other regulatory bodies are taking a cautious approach in this area. A statement published in February 2026 explicitly emphasized that issuing yuan-pegged stablecoins abroad without the necessary permits is prohibited.

While cryptocurrency transactions remain banned in mainland China, Hong Kong is taking a more flexible approach. Regulators in the region recently granted stablecoin licenses to two different entities, ushering in a new era for the sector.

According to experts, stablecoins could become a significant part of international competition within the global financial system in the coming years.

DoubleZero Foundation, a project building high-speed data infrastructure for blockchains like Solana, has rolled out a new platform to speed up how trading firms access crypto market data — a sign of growing demand for Wall Street-style systems in digital asset markets.

The project, called DoubleZero Edge, went live on Thursday. Its first offering is a real-time feed of raw data from the Solana blockchain, giving traders faster access to information that can influence prices.

Solana, a high-speed blockchain popular with traders, produces large amounts of real-time data as transactions are processed. DoubleZero plugs into that system by working with validators to distribute it more quickly to market players.

Unlike traditional finance, where exchanges rely on specialized networks to deliver data at high speed, crypto markets still largely depend on the public internet: a setup that can introduce delays and inconsistencies. DoubleZero is trying to change that by building a dedicated system designed specifically for onchain data.

According to the company, the new network can shave tens of milliseconds off data delivery times, with bigger gains during periods of heavy network activity. For high-frequency trading firms, even small speed improvements can translate into a competitive edge.

The platform works by sending data over a private fiber network using multicast, a method commonly used in traditional financial markets to simultaneously distribute data to multiple participants.

Beyond speed, DoubleZero is also pitching a new economic model. Validators on the Solana network can earn additional revenue by supplying data to the platform, while traders pay to subscribe to the feeds using USDC.
