In Hartnett's view, this rebound, driven by record cash outflows, is evolving from an "oversold correction" into a dangerous zone that could trap bulls.

Flare unveiled a new governance proposal this week that would drastically alter its network architecture, provide a revenue system at the protocol level, and lower token inflation.

With trade activity increasing as market players position ahead of the April 16–April 24 voting timeframe, the token has increased by around 10.2% over the last week to about $0.0082. Growing interest in a proposal that combines aggressive tokenomic modifications with structural changes to block creation is reflected in the price response.

Investors seem to be accounting for the possible effects of lower inflation, higher token burns, and a new protocol-level value capture method. Network reconfiguration and MEV capture Fundamental changes to Flare’s block creation and MEV processes are at the heart of the proposal.

The network intends to internalize this revenue stream and reroute it back into the ecosystem rather than leaving MEV extraction to outside parties. There would be three phases to the transformation. In order to preserve network stability, block creation would first shift from individual validators to a designated builder run by the Flare Entity.

The procedure switches to Flare Confidential Compute at the second stage, allowing for public auditability while maintaining transaction privacy. In the last phase, the responsibilities of proposer and builder are combined, and validators take on a verification-focused role.

The goal of this redesign is to increase transaction ordering efficiency while guaranteeing that value created by MEV is recorded at the protocol level rather than by a select few players.

Aave records $6 billion TVL drop as Kelp hack exposes structural risk at DeFi lender



Aave just watched $6.6 billion walk out the door, and it's not because anyone hacked Aave.

The protocol's total value locked dropped from $26.4 billion on April 18 to nearly $20 billion in U.S. morning hours on Sunday, per DefiLlama. The $AAVE token fell 16% to $92, and daily fees spiked to $1.99 million as liquidations ripped through the weekend.

Depositors are running because Aave is carrying a hole it did not create. When attackers drained 116,500 rsETH from Kelp's bridge on Saturday, they dumped the stolen tokens on Aave V3 as collateral and borrowed wrapped ether against them.

On-chain trackers put the Aave-specific borrow at roughly $196 million, with total positions across Aave, Compound and Euler around $236 million.

Aave is the largest lending protocol in DeFi, where users deposit crypto to earn yield and other users borrow against collateral. Kelp is a liquid restaking protocol, which takes ether that has already been staked on Ethereum and routes it through a separate yield-generating system called EigenLayer, issuing a receipt token called rsETH in exchange.

That rsETH is what users trade and, critically, what some users posted on Aave as collateral to borrow against.

On Saturday, attackers tricked Kelp's cross-chain bridge into releasing 116,500 rsETH, about $292 million worth, to an address they controlled. They then deposited that stolen rsETH onto Aave V3 as collateral and borrowed wrapped ether against it.

A bridge is a blockchain-based took that transfers tokens between different networks, where they may not be originally supported.

According to Martinez, the critical scenario for investors will be a daily close above this level. The analyst stated that a clear break above $0.179 could indicate that the selling pressure accumulated in this region has been exhausted.

Martinez stated that this situation could trigger a strong upward movement in the $XLM price, predicting that the first target after a possible breakout could be around $0.22, representing a rise of approximately 20 percent.

The Ketman Project, operating under the Ethereum Foundation’s ETH Rangers security program, has in the latest Ethereum news, identified approximately 100 North Korea Crypto IT operatives embedded inside Web3 companies using fabricated identities, the result of a six-month investigation that ended with one of the most detailed public tallies of DPRK insider infiltration in the sector’s history.

The threat model has shifted. Where North Korea’s state-level crypto operations once centered on remote exploits and exchange hacks, the 2025 pattern is coordinated workforce infiltration, operatives passing HR screenings, accessing internal repositories, and sitting inside product teams for months before detection.

ETH Rangers launched in late 2024 through a partnership between the Ethereum Foundation, Secureum, The Red Guild, and the Security Alliance (SEAL), deploying 17 independent security researchers across a six-month mandate to strengthen the Ethereum ecosystem defenses.

The Ketman Project was one of those funded efforts, and its output went well beyond the typical audit or bug bounty scope.
Identifying 100 operatives means matching fabricated identities to known DPRK tradecraft patterns: inconsistent work histories, communication behaviors suggesting time-zone masking, payment routing through specific intermediaries, and technical fingerprints that recur across unrelated applicants. That’s intelligence work, not just security research.

It requires sustained monitoring across job boards, GitHub activity, hiring pipelines, and behavioral signals inside existing teams.
