Prusak departs for Giga Energy Matt Prusak, president and interim chief financial officer of Trump-linked bitcoin miner American Bitcoin (ABTC), is leaving the company to join Al and energy infrastructure developer Giga Energy, marking another senior executive move toward the power sector that is increasingly underpinning both bitcoin $BTC$63,637.81 mining and artificial intelligence.

Prusak said he will step down from American Bitcoin effective Aug. 4 and join Giga Energy as chief business officer and interim CFO.

He said in emailed comments that after "years building bitcoin businesses," he was shifting "upstream to the power infrastructure now constraining both mining and Al compute."

The departure reflects a broader shift as bitcoin miners reposition around Al and power infrastructure. As mining becomes increasingly commoditized and margins come under pressure, a growing number of miners are pivoting toward artificial intelligence infrastructure, repurposing their power, land and data center expertise to serve the surging demand for Al compute.

The shift has accelerated as hyperscalers race to secure electricity and capacity, allowing mining companies to diversify revenue beyond bitcoin production and tap the higher valuations being awarded to Al infrastructure businesses.

The executive had served as president of American Bitcoin, the Nasdaq-listed mining company backed by Hut 8 (HUT) and co-founded by Eric Trump, while also acting as interim finance chief.

GMC declined to disclose the size of the mandate to CoinDesk.

How the money will be run is the new information. GMC told CoinDesk it selected the Toronto-based company to generate long-term returns through a low-risk, market-neutral investment approach, meaning the reserve is to be deployed for yield rather than simply held.

A market-neutral strategy covers a range of possibilities, including basis trades and lending. Such strategies usually yield at least 5% annually in the general market. GMC did not say whether any specific approach has been selected.

BlackRock debuts tokenized access to $311 billion of money market funds in Europe

Earlier this week, BlackRock expanded its U.S. tokenized cash platform which involved offering onchain shares of an existing fund, plus a new daily reinvestment stablecoin fund.
BlackRock (BLK), the world's largest asset manager, is building on its recent expansion of tokenized cash offerings in the U.S. by tapping into a combined $311 billion of assets under management in European money market funds in a sign of the growing appeal of holding real-world assets on blockchain technology.

BlockRock unveiled 12 new tokenized share classes based on six funds across 15 European markets. The funds, which comply with the European Union's UCITS regulations, include sterling, euro and dollar share classes, the asset manager said Tuesday. The move comes one day after the firm added two tokenized cash offerings in the U.S.

CEO Larry Fink has repeatedly championed tokenization technology as a way to modernize financial markets. The tokenized real-world asset market has grown more than 200% over the past year to over $30 billion, according to rwa.xyz, while Citi projects tokenized securities could reach $5.5 trillion by 2030.

The tokenized funds are designed for corporate treasurers who already use money market funds to manage operating and reserve cash, as well as at asset managers and investment consultants across traditional and digital markets, BlackRock said.

“This is what investors want in cash management: size and liquidity,” the company's global head of cash distribution and head of the international cash management, Beccy Milchem, said in an email. “The tokenised share classes add a new digital holding and transfer capability to funds supported by established investment, dealing and liquidity-management processes.”

In a post on X, Jay Nisbett shared multiple projected price paths for XRP. He said volatility is possible in both directions, but his overall bias is bullish.

According to Nisbett, XRP is most likely to trade between $1.02 and the low-$1.30 range during August. From there, it could break into the mid-to-upper $1 range or even reach the low-$2 region.

He noted that any move into those higher levels would be short-lived. A rapid retracement could follow before the broader trend resumes.

Nisbett also said he relies heavily on his chart levels. Once they are plotted, he trusts them "almost blindly."
