This is according to a market outlook from EGRAG Crypto, a prominent market analyst. In an X post on July 5, he noted that the latest move is not simply another short-term bounce, but the start of a distribution phase targeting higher levels for the monthly XRP RSI.

‘May not resolve structural issues’ – Galaxy opposes JPMorgan’s dilution plan for Strategy
Strategy’s new $1.25B Bitcoin sale plan continues to elicit mixed reactions. Galaxy Research is the latest to weigh in on the monetization framework that the world’s largest Bitcoin treasury firm released earlier this week. 

According to Alex Thorn, Galaxy’s Head of Research, the markets “like” the new plan, but cautioned that it does not eliminate the underlying “structural risks.”

This was a smart move by Strategy, but it may not resolve structural issues forever. Strategy still has a large preferred stack, and it still has large recurring obligations.

As part of the plan, Strategy raised $1 billion in cash and formalized a 12-month cash reserve buffer. That effectively provided about 17 months of coverage for its obligations.

Additionally, it approved selling up to $1.25B in BTC to fund the interest obligations. 

MSTR rallied from $82.5 to $100, while preferred stock STRC jumped 26% from a record low of $71 to $90. Although STRC remained below its $100 peg, Galaxy said the rebound reflected positive market sentiment toward Strategy’s plan.

But Galaxy’s Thorn added that Strategy’s obligations will increase in the next two years as $6.7B in convertibles will be due. He warned that Strategy’s BTC sales would effectively exacerbate MSTR and STRC weakness.

Ripple said Monday that Luxembourg upgraded its preliminary Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) authorization under the European Union’s (EU) Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulations to a full license. The approval clears Ripple to provide cryptoasset services throughout the European Economic Area (EEA).

“This CASP authorisation means Ripple enters the post-transitional MiCA era fully compliant and ready to scale,” said Cassie Craddock, the company's managing director for Europe and the U.K., in a statement.

The CASP license Ripple announced Monday makes the company one of a small number of digital asset firms to have full authorization under MiCA, which became law three years ago and came into full force on July 1. Crypto firms without a license must stop operating in the region. Ripple was granted a preliminary license in June.

Open interest in LTC$44.71 has jumped to 7.14 million tokens, the most since May 12. It is unclear whether the capital inflow is bullish or bearish. Key indicators are sending mixed signals: Positive funding rates point to bullish sentiment, yet the 24-hour cumulative volume delta (CVD) has turned negative, indicating sellers have been more aggressive by hitting market orders rather than posting passive limit orders.Open interest in Lighter DEX’s $LIT token is also rising, reaching one-month highs as the bullish tokenomics overhaul supports its price.

DeFi protocol Summer.fi halts Lazy Summer vaults after $6 million exploitDecentralized finance protocol Summer.fi has paused its Lazy Summer vaults after an exploit that drained about $6 million from the Ethereum-based yield platform, according to the project and several blockchain security firms.

Lazy Summer is an automated yield platform that routes deposits across lending markets such as Aave and Morpho in search of higher returns while handling rebalancing on behalf of users.

The incident was first flagged by blockchain security firm Blockaid, with PeckShield and CertiK also reporting suspicious activity. Summer.fi later confirmed it was investigating the attack and said protocol guardians had paused affected vaults to prevent additional losses.

Early analyses suggest the attacker leverageda large flash loan attack, reportedly sourced through Morpho, to manipulate the accounting logic of Lazy Summer's automated USDC vaults.

DeFi security researcher Bhari noted that the exploit took advantage of a flaw in the code to inflate total assets, which they were then allowed to redeem for a net profit. The stolen funds were apparently converted to DAI on Curve before being transferred to the attacker's wallet.

The protocol had $22 million in total value locked before the exploit, according to DeFiLlama data. The protocol's SUMR token lost more than 18% of its value after the exploit was uncovered.

Users posted screenshots of the notification on X on Sunday. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong replied to one saying he was looking into it with the team. According to one post, the alert was sent at 10:26 a.m. ET. The match didn't start until 4 p.m.

Max Branzburg, the company's head of consumer & business products, later clarified that the incorrect story was fixed and the firm “made some updates to avoid these types of inaccuracies in the future.”

“It’s awesome to see the power of AI-enabled 24/7 insights for trading, but obviously still need to tune it to address these types of issues,” Branzburg wrote on X.

The actual match did see Norway beat Brazil, and Haaland scored twice. The final score was 2-1.
