SpaceX’s Mascot Shiba Dog Adds $50 Million to a Parody TokenASTEROID token jumped more than 137% in a week after SpaceX listed its Asteroid Shiba plush on its online store.
The token briefly added more than $60 million in market value, riding renewed attention around the Polaris Dawn mascot.
SpaceX is tied to the plush toy, not the token. ASTEROID remains an unofficial meme coin with no confirmed backing from SpaceX, Musk, or Liv Perrotto’s family.A Shiba Inu plush toy on SpaceX’s online store has sent a parody crypto token or meme coin into another sharp rally.

Asteroid Shiba, an Ethereum-based meme coin built around the “Asteroid” plush from SpaceX’s Polaris Dawn mission, jumped more than 137% over the past week, according to CoinGecko. 

Its market value briefly climbed from roughly $22 million at its weekly low to about $86 million at the peak, before cooling to around $60 million.That means the token briefly added more than $60 million in paper value during the move. Even after the pullback, it remains far above where it traded before the latest wave of SpaceX-linked attention.

Crypto Mom' Hester Peirce Announces Exit From SECHester Peirce, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) official affectionately dubbed "Crypto Mom" by the digital asset industry, has confirmed her upcoming departure from the agency during her appearance on the "Rollup" podcast.

Peirce will be leaving the SEC this November and "moving to the beach" after nearly three decades in Washington, D.C.

Peirce's final priorities include pushing for regulatory changes that allow more companies to go public earlier, eliminating the trade-through rule, and, most notably, clearing the runway for a comprehensive regulatory crypto framework.

"Crypto Mom"

Hester Peirce was initially sworn into office back in January 2018. She was then renominated in 2020 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in August 2020.

Her term officially expired on June 5, 2025, but U.S. law allows SEC commissioners to continue serving in their roles for up to 18 months if a successor has not been named and confirmed.

The extension allowed Peirce to remain at the agency until early December 2026. However, her recent announcement confirms she will cut this extension slightly short. She will join Regent University School of Law as an associate professor.$

Anniversary Bitcoin price steadies near $64K as traders watch ETF outflows and Hormuz riskBitcoin traded near $64,000 on Sunday after recovering part of Friday's sell-off, but the rebound has not yet changed the wider range.

According to crypto.news market data, Bitcoin traded around $64,008, up 0.87% over 24 hours.

The page showed a 24-hour range between $63,188 and $64,462, with daily volume above $16.6 billion. Bitcoin's seven-day move stayed slightly negative, showing that the weekend bounce only repaired part of the damage.

The move kept traders focused on the $62,000 support area. A clear break below that zone could weaken short-term sentiment, while a move above $67,000 would give bulls a stronger relief setup.

Bitcoin holds range after Friday's drop Bitcoin fell below $63,000 on Friday as risk appetite weakened across crypto markets. It later bounced from the weekly 200-period moving average area and the 0.618 Fibonacci retracement, according to crypto trader Daan Crypto Trades.

Amid the development, the total crypto market cap increased by roughly $39 billion, up 1.37%, and stabilized near $2.19 trillion. Bitcoin [BTC] reclaimed the $64,000 level at press time.

Ethereum [ETH] also showed signs of recovery and traded around $1,723. However, average daily trading volume remained below normal levels at $52 billion to $55 billion. That suggested conviction remained limited despite the rebound.

As markets recovered, traders gradually rebuilt exposure through derivatives. Open Interest stood at roughly $108 billion over the past 24 hours.

The rise in Open Interest suggested participants positioned for further upside. Even so, overall sentiment remained cautious rather than aggressive.

Morgan Stanley filed amended registration statements for proposed Ethereum and Solana ETF trusts on June 18, setting a 0.14% annual delegated sponsor fee on both products.

Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas described the proposed fee as the lowest among ETH and SOL products worldwide.

The ETH trust, expected to trade on NYSE Arca under the ticker MSSE, intends to track ether and staking rewards from a portion of its holdings. The SOL trust (MSOL) intends to stake up to 100% of its Solana.

BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) carries a 0.25% sponsor fee, Grayscale's mini Ether (ETH) product sits at 0.15%, Bitwise's Solana staking ETF (BSOL) launched at 0.20%, and Franklin Templeton's Solana ETF (SOEZ) lists a 0.19% net expense ratio.

The filings are preliminary, and the SEC must declare both registration statements effective before shares trade; neither filing has reached that threshold.
