The demand for highly robust, censorship-resistant infrastructure is reaching new heights. Complex trading algorithms, perpetual decentralized exchanges, and automated yield strategies require a specific architecture to function effectively: raw, decentralized computing power paired with sub-second, high-fidelity data.

Akash (AKT) represents the "decentralized cloud compute" leg of this thesis, providing a permissionless marketplace for CPU and GPU resources. Pyth Network (PYTH) acts as the "high-frequency oracle" leg, sourcing ultra-fast market data directly from first-party financial institutions and exchanges.

Conceptually, this pairing forms an elite "Compute + Fast Data" rail capable of powering the next generation of on-chain trading. However, a deep dive into their current technical metrics reveals two assets in different stages of market digestion. Are they coiling to become a core infrastructure standard, or will they remain secondary AI and infrastructure side bets?

Akash currently exhibits a notably strong technical posture compared to the broader altcoin market. It is executing a healthy, short-term pause inside a structurally sound medium-term uptrend.

Trend and Structural Reality:

Moving Average Alignment: At $0.7403, AKT sits slightly below its 7-day Simple Moving Average ($0.76693), marking a brief cool-down. Crucially, it remains firmly above its 30-day SMA ($0.72922) and well above its macro 200-day SMA ($0.49729).

Bullish Momentum: The MACD line (0.011598) has crossed above its signal line, and the histogram is printing positive (+0.011885). Paired with a daily RSI in the low-50s (RSI-14: 52.99), the metrics describe a moderate, healthy trend rather than an overbought blow-off top.

The Revenue Divergence: Why Record-Breaking Ethereum Activity Isn’t Boosting ETH PriceEthereum’s layer-1 network set all-time highs across every usage metric in Q1 2026, with monthly active users climbing 53.5% quarter-over-quarter to 13.2 million and transaction count reaching 200.4 million, even as $ETH’s market cap dropped 30% and fees on the base layer fell nearly 50%.

But according to Token Terminal’s Q1 2026 Ethereum Report, the divergence between the rising activity and falling revenue is the whole point.

Ethereum Usage Hits Record Despite Falling Fees and Valuation
The report, published on June 17, showed the numbers splitting cleanly along two lines. On the usage side, everything went up, including active monthly users, which rose 85.9% year-over-year; transactions, which increased 81.5% YoY to just over 200 million; and throughput, which hit 25.78 transactions per second, an 81.7% jump YoY.

However, on the dollar side, things weren’t so glossy. Ecosystem total value locked averaged $316.2 billion, down 11% from Q4 2025 but still up nearly 23% year-over-year. Meanwhile, base layer transaction fees came in at $39.9 million, an almost 48% fall from the previous quarter and 81.9% below where they were a year ago.

Per Token Terminal, the fee compression had a direct cause, namely the Fusaka upgrade cycle’s second Blob Parameters Only fork (BPO #2) in January, which raised Ethereum’s data capacity and made blockspace cheaper. As a result, the transaction count went up 38% while total fees dropped by almost half in the same period.

Etherealize, the group that’s working to push Ethereum’s capabilities to traditional finance and a contributor to the report, framed it this way:

Prediction Markets Hit a Record $10.8 Billion in Weekly Trading Volume

Data from venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz’s crypto division, A16z crypto, show prediction market trading volume reached a record $10.8 billion during the week ending June 15, 2026, marking the first time weekly activity exceeded the $10 billion threshold.

The milestone followed a year of rapid expansion across leading platforms, with total volume more than doubling from levels recorded earlier this spring.

A16z crypto stated on June 19 in a post on X:

“ Prediction markets hit a record $10.8 billion in weekly trading volume in the week ending June 15 — their biggest week ever.”

SpaceX IPO, Sports Finals, and Global Events Drive Prediction Market Surge

Several major events gave traders a wide set of contracts to price during the record week. Activity centered on the SpaceX IPO, a U.S.-Iran peace deal, the NBA Finals, the Stanley Cup Final, and the early stages of the World Cup, creating simultaneous demand across finance, geopolitics, and sports markets.

A16z explained:

“Several big events coincided that contributed to the all-time high: the SpaceX IPO, a U.S.-Iran peace deal, the NBA Finals, the Stanley Cup, and the opening of the World Cup, among them.”

The SpaceX listing was one of the key drivers of activity. Its debut at a $2.1 trillion valuation drew significant interest from traders, who turned to prediction contracts to assess expectations for the company’s future developments.
Meanwhile, the sports calendar delivered its own drama. Championship showdowns in basketball and hockey, combined with the World Cup’s opening stage, attracted a broad wave of traders seeking exposure to some of the year’s most closely watched events.

Michael Saylor Shares Strategy's Resilience and Growth Since 2022

Michael Saylor, the chairman of the world's largest Bitcoin treasury firm, Strategy, has recently shared a brief story, reflecting on the tough moments in the history of the company, which have now become its strengths today.

In the post, Saylor discussed how far the company has come since it continued to witness consistent market weakness, especially in 2022, when it faced its lowest moment.

Strategy grows from 130,000 $BTC to 846,000 $BTC in four years

In his statement, Saylor recalled that when he gave a speech in October 2022, Bitcoin was trading around $20,000 and the firm only held about 130,000 $BTC, worth around $2.6 billion at the time.

While its stock, MSTR, also traded near $24 on a split-adjusted basis during that period, it marked the beginning of the company's trials, as the weeks that followed saw Bitcoin enter a deep correction phase.

At that point, the market conditions began to prove challenging for Strategy as Bitcoin dropped below $16,000 and Strategy faced mounting pressure.

At that point, Strategy had incurred debts that exceeded the combined worth of all its Bitcoin holdings and cash reserves by about $300 million.

This caused MSTR shares to fall from $24 to $13 in just a few weeks. The bright side is that this did not mark the end for Strategy.

According to Saylor, the company remained committed to its long-term goal and continued to aggressively accumulate Bitcoin despite the difficult market situation.

Since it remained resilient and continued to double down on its Bitcoin purchases, Strategy has reportedly raised more than $60 billion in additional capital and invested it in expanding its Bitcoin holdings.

As such, Strategy has added over 716,000 $BTC to its holdings since that time, and currently boasts over 846,000 $BTC in its portfolio.
