Grayscale, a leading digital asset management firm, has suggested that the U.S. government’s recent decision to restrict access to Anthropic’s latest AI model is accelerating interest in decentralized artificial intelligence projects such as Bittensor (TAO). The development highlights growing tensions between centralized AI control and the push for open, permissionless alternatives.

Background: The Anthropic Model Restriction

On June 12, the U.S. government blocked access to Anthropic’s Mythos-level AI models for foreign nationals, citing national security concerns. The move effectively limits who can use one of the most advanced AI systems currently available, concentrating its availability within a narrow group of approved users. Zach Pandl, head of research at Grayscale, explained that this case underscores how advanced AI technology is increasingly controlled by a small number of governments and corporations.

Grayscale’s Analysis: Centralization vs. Decentralization

In a research note, Pandl drew a direct parallel between the current state of AI and the early days of digital currency. He stated that Bittensor, which operates a decentralized network for AI development and access, is to artificial intelligence what Bitcoin is to digital currency. The platform aims to provide permissionless access to AI tools and models, removing the gatekeeping role played by centralized labs and governments.

Pandl noted that the price of TAO, the native token of the Bittensor network, rose approximately 30% within 12 hours of the announcement restricting the Mythos model. This market reaction, he argued, signals that investors and developers are increasingly viewing decentralized AI networks as a hedge against centralized control.

MoonPay Trade Launches in Ledger Wallet for Secure Swaps


On Tuesday, MoonPay revealed that its MoonPay Trade is now live via Ledger Wallet.

The integration will allow users to provide access to cross-chain trading while leveraging the security of the Ledger ecosystem.

The announcement comes during a growth in the demand for trading among institutional traders, and MoonPay Trade will provide a secure way to trade digital assets without revealing their private keys.

On June 16, MoonPay, a leading financial technology platform for digital assets, announced that MoonPay Trade is now available directly through Ledger Wallet.

The official announcement stated that the integration will allow users of Ledger Wallet to access services like swapping and trading while keeping their private keys secured on their hardware wallet.

“We’re excited to announce that MoonPay Trade is now live via Ledger Wallet™, giving users access to fast, competitive decentralized cross-chain trading without leaving the security of the Ledger ecosystem,” stated the official announcement.

What is MoonPay Trade?

MoonPay Trade is a major platform for the crypto payments company, which was launched in May 2026 as a unified system to access liquidity and execute trades. This platform is developed for both decentralized finance and institutional use.

MoonPay Trade is developed on technology from Decent.xyz, which is a Y Combinator-backed cross-chain routing company that MoonPay has recently acquired. It is working as a single connection point for more than 200 blockchains and protocols.
