$110K Spring Airdrop Rain—18 Days Straight!

Morgan Stanley has launched E*Trade crypto trading at 0.5%, undercutting Coinbase, Schwab, and Robinhood in a pilot set to reach 8.6 million users.

Morgan Stanley has launched ETrade crypto trading at a flat 0.5% fee, below Coinbase and Schwab. The pilot went live on May 6 with Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana available directly inside ETrade brokerage accounts via Zerohash, which handles liquidity, custody, and settlement. Bloomberg reported the pricing, which places Morgan Stanley below every major retail competitor.

Schwab launched its own spot Bitcoin and Ether trading in April at 75 basis points. Fidelity charges roughly 1% per trade. Robinhood is commission-free but carries spreads of 35 to 95 basis points per transaction.

ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said rivals “likely won’t let this stand” and predicted fees across the industry will compress sharply, drawing a parallel to the race to zero expense ratios among Bitcoin ETFs.

Clients receive direct ownership of digital assets rather than fund exposure, which eliminates third-party management fees but carries greater price risk. The pilot does not yet support staking. Zerohash manages all back-end operations, keeping private keys away from users.

As crypto.news tracked, the ETrade crypto rollout is one piece of a broader digital asset push that includes Morgan Stanley’s MSBT Bitcoin ETF, which launched April 8 at a 0.14% expense ratio and hit $103m in inflows within days.

The bank is also building a proprietary digital wallet expected in the second half of 2026, designed to hold crypto alongside tokenized stocks, bonds, and real estate. Morgan Stanley head of wealth management Jed Finn previously described the crypto trading launch as “only the beginning.”

DeepBook [$DEEP] was the biggest gainer among top 200 coins by market cap at the time of press. $DEEP rallied more than 23% in the last 24 hours as the entire crypto market was up by only 0.70%.

Despite a broader altcoin market resurgence, the new product primarily drove DeepBook.

The DeepBook protocol, built on the Sui Network [SUI], announced the launch of its new prediction market platform, Predict. The platform went live as the team dropped the Predict Waitlist.

Predict allows betting on any asset at any price range with leverage. This new utility sparked immediate speculative interest, with daily trading volume exploding by 976% to over $60 million.

The price action charts confirmed the increase in speculative trading as $DEEP attempted to break past the consolidation. The altcoin had been moving sideways for the past 100 days.

The Choppiness Index reading sharply dropped to 32, suggesting the trend was strong. However, capital inflow remained in the negative territory as per Chaikin Money Flow (CMF).

A break past the range’s high at around $0.0380 would ignite reversal chances. However, for the bullish reversal to be confirmed on the daily chart, $DEEP has to reclaim the most recent lower high as support. This lower high was around $0.06.

If that reversal occurred, the next resistances that could curtail the uptrend were at $0.07 and $0.08. Sellers at these levels may react.

While the rally looked to be sustainable, the network’s activity gave a different story.

Amid this market recovery, a crypto whale purchased a massive 67,648 $SOL worth $6.23 million after remaining dormant for seven months, according to crypto transaction tracker Lookonchain.

In fact, institutional demand has also been observed through spot Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), as reported by analytics platform SoSoValue. Data shows that on May 8, 2026, U.S. spot $SOL ETFs recorded inflows of $6.23 million.

Besides all this, the derivatives platform CoinGlass reveals that not only whales and institutions are bullish on crypto, but intraday traders are also following the same trend.

Data from the $SOL exchange liquidation map, $90.70 on the downside and $94.50 on the upside, are the two major liquidation levels.

At these levels, traders are heavily overleveraged, with $174.48 million worth of long positions and $42.75 million worth of short positions built up, indicating that bulls are expecting the price to move higher.

These transactions indicate that demand for $SOL is growing and that the cryptocurrency has strong upside potential.According to the daily chart on TradingView, Solana currently has a bullish bias, but it is approaching a major sell wall. The chart shows that $97.40 is a key resistance level for $SOL, as it has a history of triggering price reversals.
