What stands out is how JPYC plans to use the capital:
from system development and expanding business teams to strengthening issuance and settlement infrastructure. In other words, this is less about hype—and more about building real financial rails.
The growth metrics are equally telling.
As of mid-April 2026, cumulative issuance has surpassed ¥2.1 billion, growing 2.6x in just three months. Daily turnover exceeding 100% suggests strong usage, not just idle supply. While there are around 17,000 accounts, over 137,000 wallet addresses have interacted with JPYC—pointing to rising on-chain activity.
On the ecosystem side, JPYC is already live on Ethereum, Polygon, and Avalanche, with plans to expand to newer chains like Kaia and Arc. The goal is clear: become a universal payment layer across digital ecosystems.
But the real story is in adoption.
JPYC is working with Sony Bank, integrating with wallets like Unifi, and exploring practical use cases such as tax refunds, cross-border payments, and e-commerce. It has even rolled out offline payment applications in El Salvador—bridging crypto with everyday transactions.
Bottom line:
JPYC is moving beyond being just a stablecoin—it’s positioning itself as usable digital money.

On Friday, United States President Donald Trump announced that Iran fully reopened the Strait of Hormuz (for the first time since March) for the free passage of oil vessels, with the global financial markets and crypto reacting positively to the news. However, Iran announced on Saturday that it has closed the Strait again, with digital asset prices dropping on the back of the fresh development.

Bitcoin Falls Below $76k As Iran Closes Strait Again
On Saturday, Iran’s military announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz again, with reports suggesting at least three attacks on commercial ships along the waterway. After President Trump’s several announcements going into the weekend, the Iranian Speaker of the Parliament, Mohammad Ghalibaf, said the US president made “seven claims in one hour, all seven of which were false.”

What’s interesting is that the crypto and global financial markets have been seeing a return of bullish momentum after a ceasefire agreement was reached between the United States and Iran in recent weeks. However, with the ceasefire agreement set to expire in a couple of days and negotiations looking broken down, volatility and uncertainty seem set to return to the markets in the coming days.

According to data from CoinGecko, the global cryptocurrency market capitalization is down by more than 2%, with the Bitcoin and Ethereum prices showing dips of 2% and 3%, respectively. Specifically, the premier cryptocurrency, which ran up to a 10-week high of around $77,500 on Friday, is now back below $76,000.

Tether joins $8 million strategic funding round in RWA firm Kaio
Kaio said it raised $8 million in a strategic round with Tether and Systemic Ventures participating. 

The company has a yield-bearing token that gives exposure to real-world assets.
Kaio, a real-world asset firm that gives users exposure to "bluechip funds," said Monday it has raised $8 million in a fresh strategic round.

Tether, the world's largest stablecoin issuer, and Systemic Ventures participated in the round. Kaio said in blog post it has raised a total of $19 million and its backers include Further, Brevan Howard and Karatage.

"The capital will accelerate Kaio’s onchain fund distribution infrastructure and expansion across asset classes," the firm added.

Tokenizing real-world assets like real estate, money market funds and equities is a means of bridging traditional finance and crypto, giving investors access to familiar assets without having to move their funds off-chain.

In February, Kaio opened a waitlist for its Kash coin, "a yield-bearing token" that gives holders exposure to "a diversified basket of bluechip funds sourced from leading global asset managers including BlackRock, Hamilton Lane, and Laser Digital," according to a post. Kaio said it also has a new product from Mubadala Capital in the pipeline.

"Kaio’s unique position unlocks new pathways for capital formation and investment by bringing institutional-grade assets on-chain and making them more broadly accessible, helping expand participation in global financial markets," Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said in Kaio's statement.

It was also revealed Monday that Tether took a nearly 2 million-share stake in Bitmain-linked Antalpha, stemming from its 2025 IPO allocation.

According to Kaio's website, it has $108.5 million in assets under management. The company is based in the United Arab Emirates.

Musk then followed up with a single word: “Ok.”
