Growth rates for the platforms rival the artificial intelligence boom, according to Bank of America. Analyst Julie Hoover in a note last week called Kalshi one of the "fastest growing non-AI companies" in the U.S. Weekly trading volume on Kalshi — which controls more than 90% of the U.S. prediction market — has surged to more than $3 billion today from about $100 million a year ago, she wrote. While prediction market volumes initially jumped in 2024 around the U.S. presidential election, they eventually surpassed those levels in 2025 as sports, cryptocurrency and macroeconomic and political contracts became popular.Bernstein analyst Gautam Chhugani now estimates that total market volumes in 2026 will reach $240 billion, a 370% increase compared to last year. At a compound annual growth rate of roughly 80% between 2025 and 2030, Chhugani sees prediction market trading volume of $1 trillion a year by the start of the next decade.  Chhugani expects increased regulatory clarity at the federal level will boost the potential market, and that blockchain tokenization and integration with cryptocurrencies is enabling more liquidity. Bitcoin Price Breaks Higher: What The Market Data Says Could Happen Next

The Bitcoin price is bouncing back strongly amid growing hopes for a potential shift in the standoff between the US and Iran. So far, $BTC has gained roughly 10% in the weekly time frame. This pushed the asset back toward the $76,000 area and briefly marked a nearly one-month high.

The move appears to have been driven by improving sentiment around the conflict, even as tensions remain very real and the US simultaneously took action in the region.

Regulatory Clarity Before A Bigger Push?

The Bitcoin price rally followed claims by President Donald Trump that Iran had reached out to his administration about possible peace talks. At the same time, the US began a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Damien Loh, chief investment officer at Ericsenz Capital, told Bloomberg that Bitcoin is behaving like other risk assets during the move. In his view, the market interpreted Trump’s comments as a sign that the timeline for a deal may be getting extended and that another round of discussions is being pursued.

Loh also added an important nuance: the Bitcoin price has been trading better than broader risk assets, but he suggested it may take additional regulatory clarity before the next leg up can truly take hold.

Specifically, he pointed to the possibility that the Bitcoin price could remain range-bound until the US passes the long-awaited CLARITY Act, the industry’s market structure framework.

Bitcoin Price Breakout Is Just Getting Started

Market analyst Ali Martinez, citing data from his latest analysis, argued that the current push higher is not finished. Martinez said $BTC has finally broken above a descending trendline on its 12-hour chart after roughly two months of consolidation inside a symmetrical triangle.

$TON Blockchain Gets New Upgrade “Catchain 2.0”

The $TON blockchain activated its Catchain 2.0 upgrade on April 9 and April 10. This upgrade is aimed at changing the consensus to enhance the performance of networks. This decision was made by validators after voting on the network.

In the official post on X, Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram, announced the completion of this upgrade. This upgrade has reduced the block production time from around 2.5 seconds to 400 milliseconds. This makes the network 6 times faster than its previous version. The network speed and throughput have increased by around 10 times. This will improve the speed of payments, trades, and mini-apps available inside Telegram, just like sending a message.

The $TON blockchain just got upgraded and is now 10× faster.

Block rate increased 6×.

Transactions are now instant, subsecond.

This was step 1 of 7 to Make $TON Great Again (MTONGA).

This upgrade has introduced a modern networking protocol called QUIC to help validators communicate easily. Durov called this the first in the 7-part “Make $TON Great Again.”

$TON blockchain is continuously expanding its reach through various developments. Last year, Chainlink expanded its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Data Streams to the $TON blockchain.
