Summary SEC Chair Paul Atkins unveiled an "innovation exemption" to let tokenized securities trade on-chain under tailored rules. A new five-category crypto framework would place 4 of 5 token types outside securities law, narrowing the SEC's direct reach. The SEC also formalized coordination with the CFTC and expanded "Project Crypto" to retrofit securities rules for on-chain markets. Marking the first anniversary of his chairmanship at the Washington Economic Club, SEC Chairman Paul Atkins used a keynote address to announce what he cast as a regulatory reset for digital assets built around an "A-C-T" strategy: advance, clarify, transform. At the center of that agenda is a five-category token framework that, according to Atkins, will place only a narrow slice of crypto assets inside securities law while explicitly classifying most others as non-securities. SEC pivots from enforcement to classification "Our goal is to help market participants slot crypto assets into clear categories, instead of leaving them to guess whether the SEC will call something a security after the fact," Atkins said in earlier remarks outlining the same framework. He reiterated his oft-stated principle that "form does not change substance," arguing that a stock "remains a stock, whether represented on paper, through a DTCC entry, or as a blockchain token," while also stressing that not every token used in a capital raise should be treated as a security forever. Innovation exemption and Project Crypto The headline reform is an "innovation exemption" designed to let qualified firms issue and trade tokenized securities on-chain for a limited period under lighter-touch conditions, while still operating under SEC oversight.

Etherealize updates long-term ETH price prediction to $250,000

If Ethereum captures the same monetary premium as bitcoin and gold carry as stores-of-value with a combined market cap of $31 trillion, that implies a price north of $250,000 per ETH.

The report argues ETH is unique in the history of money in being both a value store and a “productive asset.”

Etherealize, the institutional marketing and product arm for the Ethereum ecosystem, has set a new long-term price target for ETH at $250,000, arguing the token represents something of a unique asset in the history of money. 

The price call is significantly lower than Etherealize’s previous $740,000 per token target, set last year during the firm’s first public communique. It is also a significant reach for an asset that is currently trading at $2,300, according to The Block’s price page.

"It's all about timing and inevitability," Vivek Raman, co-founder of Etherealize, told The Block. "We think Ethereum is going to be the backbone of the global financial system, and that there's going to be one or two digital assets that become the store-of-value assets."

If bitcoin is a "foregone conclusion," then ETH is "the other contender," Raman added. Notably, Etherealize's report does not give a target date for its price prediction. 

Etherealize launched last year to communicate Ethereum’s usefulness as an institutional asset.

TRON price looks bullish based on social feeds and rising stablecoins data, yet the chart just… shrugs. While headlines scream about rising stablecoin supply and Justin Sun’s decentralization claims, TRON price action is barely reacting, and honestly, that disconnect is getting hard to ignore. Because under the surface, things aren’t as clean as they seem.

TRON Price Ignores Bullish Narrative
Let’s start with the supposed bullish driver. The total supply of USDT on the TRON network just hit a fresh all-time high of $86.7 billion. On-chain logic says that’s a good thing more stablecoins usually mean more liquidity, more activity, more upside.

In theory. But here’s the kicker, TRON price hasn’t exactly taken off. Yes, buy volume is rising, and sure, the network looks active, but price isn’t reflecting that enthusiasm in any meaningful way. It’s moving up, but not with conviction. More like a cautious grind than a breakout.

And that usually tells you one thing: the market isn’t fully buying the narrative.

Security Moves Spark Debate Around Decentralization Claims
Now layer in the broader market context. The Arbitrum Security Council announced that they froze 30,766 ETH linked to an exploit, moving the funds to a secure intermediary wallet with governance control. The move was coordinated with law enforcement and executed without affecting users or chain state.

Efficient? Yes. Decentralized? Well… move raises doubts. Justin Sun raised voice on this and this is where things get spicy. In response, TRON’s founder doubled down, claiming TRON is the “most decentralized blockchain in the world.” Bold statement, especially when the market is actively watching how different chains handle crises.
