Price action has continued to test this resistance zone without a significant rejection. Such repeated attempts typically weaken a resistance level over time, as sell orders get absorbed and buyers gain confidence. With each retest, the likelihood of a breakout increases, pointing to a potential shift into a stronger bullish phase.

Beyond the immediate barrier, he identified €2,350 ($2,759) and €2,900 ($3,400) as the next key resistance zones to watch. These levels could act as interim checkpoints, but the overall trend suggests that momentum may not stall easily at the first hurdle.

A rejection around €2,350 would likely be considered a weak outcome, especially after nearly three months of consolidation below the current resistance band. Extended consolidation phases often lead to explosive moves, meaning a deeper push toward €2,900 (roughly $3,400) appears more consistent with the buildup seen on the charts.

Monero To $1,160? Analyst Sees Major XMR Rally Ahead
Cryptoinsightuk analyst Will Taylor says Monero’s multi-year structure could support a move toward the $1,000 area and potentially as high as $1,160 if the current weekly trend holds.

Taylor shared a weekly $XMR chart on X and tied the setup to a broader thesis around privacy coins, arguing that Monero’s market structure has continued to improve despite the regulatory and exchange pressure facing privacy-focused assets.

“Looking to see if this trend continues or not. Structural higher lows and higher highs, with volatility of the upside moves increasing. I’m thinking a TP below / around the psychological level of $1,000,” Taylor wrote.

He added that the more aggressive target sits above that level. “We still have today to confirm on the weekly of course, but just an idea. There is also an argument for the $1,160 region that would align with the 2.618 fib level.”

The Thesis Behind Monero

The chart shows Monero trading near $388 against USDT on KuCoin. The projected move toward the $1,160 area would imply a gain of around 200% from the highlighted region, according to the chart’s measurement. Taylor’s market-cap chart also shows $XMR around $7.15 billion, with Fibonacci extension levels mapped above the current range.

Taylor’s thesis is not based only on near-term price structure. In a longer note from The Weekly Insight, he framed Monero as a bet on the persistence of crypto privacy demand, even as regulators and exchanges have moved against privacy tokens.

“The next token I want to look at is $XMR (Monero). There’s been an international push to essentially halt privacy tokens like Monero, Dash, and others, due to their ability to make transactions difficult, if not impossible, to trace. I’d like to remind everyone that this was the original vision for crypto—an anonymous, decentralized financial system.”

Analysts have issued a new price outlook for gold in 2026, noting that the precious metal is likely to be supported by continued central bank demand and persistent global economic uncertainty.

To this end, a Reuters poll of 31 analysts and traders published on April 27 places the median forecast at $4,916 per ounce, marking the highest annual projection recorded in the survey’s history.

This represents an increase from the $4,746.50 estimate issued three months earlier and a sharp jump from the $3,000 forecast reported a year ago.

The revised outlook comes after a volatile period for the precious metal. Gold surged to a record level of around $5,595 per ounce at the end of January before retreating roughly 11% following geopolitical escalation involving U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran in late February.

The pullback was largely attributed to investors seeking liquidity during heightened market uncertainty.

By press time, gold was trading at $4,698, down 0.23% for the day. Year to date, the metal is up almost 9%.

Despite the recent decline, analysts expect gold’s broader upward trend to resume once geopolitical tensions stabilize. However, the metal faces near-term pressure from rising inflation and expectations of tighter monetary policy, particularly as higher interest rates reduce the appeal of non-yielding assets like gold.

Over the longer term, gold prices are expected to be supported by strong central bank demand, concerns over U.S. fiscal stability and currency debasement, and uncertainty around Federal Reserve policy, reinforcing its safe-haven appeal into 2026.

A return to monetary easing could further boost investment demand, while geopolitical tensions are seen as a source of short-term volatility rather than a shift in the broader outlook.
