A major controversy has emerged between Justin Sun and the Trump-linked crypto project WLFI, setting the tone for today’s market developments.

In a post on X, Sun alleges that the platform embedded a hidden blacklist function within its smart contract, which was used to freeze his wallet in September 2025 without prior notice.
As WLFI’s largest investor, Sun has raised broader concerns about the project’s governance. Specifically, he claims that voting mechanisms were structured to justify freezing investor assets. In addition, he alleges that the team extracted undisclosed fees and misused community funds. Sun further describes the operation as functioning like a “personal ATM.”

Data from Bubblemaps indicates that Sun’s frozen holdings total roughly 545 million WLFI tokens, which have declined by more than $80 million in value since the freeze.

However, WLFI has strongly denied the allegations, calling them unfounded and accusing Sun of misconduct. The project has also signaled potential legal action, suggesting the dispute could escalate into court proceedings.

While the WLFI dispute dominates headlines, XRP is experiencing a sharp rise in negative sentiment.

Data from Santiment shows that fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) surrounding XRP have reached their third-highest level in two years. In a recent post on X, Santiment noted that such extreme bearish sentiment has historically preceded market rebounds.

At present, XRP is trading at $1.33, down 63.6% from its July 2025 high of $3.65, according to CoinGecko. This prolonged downturn appears to have driven many retail investors out of the market, potentially creating conditions for a sentiment-driven recovery.

A South Korean payment firm has teamed up with Avalanche to create a crypto-like Layer‐1 blockchain tailored specifically for payments.

A Crypto-Spin For TradFi In South Korea

TradFi continues its race to not be left behind DeFi innovation. This time, however, a traditional payments giant most recent move is not aimed at just integrating with crypto, but it’s actually spinning up its own chain intended at real‐world payments.

According to The Block, NHN KCP, one of South Korea’s biggest payment processors, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Avalanche developer Ava Labs to build its own payments‐focused Layer 1.

Avalanche is a high‐performance Layer 1 blockchain platform designed for smart contracts and custom blockchains, with near‐instant transaction finality and low fees.

The planned L1 will be built via Ava Cloud and optimized for real‐world payments: sub‐second payment authorization, on‐chain transaction data encryption, and customizable merchant payment infrastructure. NHN KCP and Ava Labs want to plug in tokenized deposits, multi‐stablecoin settlement, and cross‐border payments on top of that base layer.

Jun-seok Park, CEO of NHN KCP, said in a statement:

This agreement is highly significant as it combines NHN KCP’s industry-leading payment operational expertise with world-class blockchain technology to derive an innovative model that can be immediately applied to real-world business.

The pair intend to test whether the project is technically viable via a proof‐of‐concept, and to broaden their ties with financial and payment firms worldwide.

High Roller Technologies Inc. (ROLR) stock more than doubled after the online casino operator said it planned to introduce an event-based prediction market in the U.S. in conjunction with Crypto.com.

The Las Vegas-based company said Tuesday it will initially offer its customers Crypto.com Derivatives North America (CDNA) event contracts in the U.S. across finance, sports and entertainment. CDNA is a CFTC-registered exchange and clearinghouse and affiliate of Crypto.com. It didn't say when the planned market would start operating.

The company's share rose as much as 130% and were recently 65% higher at $8.32. Crypto.com’s CRO token gained 3% after the announcement to 7 cents.

Prediction markets have quickly gone from being niche betting platforms to a growing sector of sophisticated trading platforms that aggregate real-world event probabilities. Leading participants include Kalshi, a CFTC-regulated U.S. exchange for event contracts, and Polymarket, one of the largest decentralized markets covering politics, sports and economics. The market is expected to mature into one with trading volume in excess of $1 trillion by 2030, according to High Roller.

Prediction markets are running at an annualized revenue rate above $3 billion, up from about $2 billion in December, and could reach $10 billion by 2030, according to a recent report by U.S. bank Citizens.
