Alpine Fox discloses $125 million in crypto positions as Cipher Mining and IBIT calls dominate Q1 filingAlpine Fox Capital revealed more than $125 million in crypto-related holdings among a total portfolio of $154 million in its Q1 2026 Form 13F filing with the SEC.

The Las Vegas-based fund, run by investor Mike Alfred, held 3.76 million shares of Cipher Mining valued at $48.4 million, its largest position. A separate call option covering 100,000 shares added $1.3 million, bringing total Cipher exposure to roughly $49.7 million. The fund also held 750,461 shares of IREN at $25.7 million.

U.S. stocks are trading at valuations close to dot-com bubble extremes, a period that ended in a sharp market collapse in 2000.

A cyclically adjusted price-to-earnings ratio measure known as the Shiller P/E ratio rose as high as 42.18 this month, just below the 44.19 observed at the height of the dot-com era that marked the growth of internet companies based on the then-nascent worldwide web.

The S&P 500 slumped 50% between March 2000 and October 2002, and did not regain its peak until 2007. The ratio — which smooths short-term profit swings to provide a long-term picture — suggests that U.S. equities, led by mega-cap technology stocks benefiting from the artificial intelligence boom, are now trading at their richest valuations in over 25 years.

Ether has continued to lag behind Bitcoin during the latest crypto market recovery, with analysts at JPMorgan saying weaker network activity and fading confidence across the altcoin market have kept institutional demand tilted toward Bitcoin.

According to a report from JPMorgan led by managing director Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou, Bitcoin has recovered much faster than Ethereum following the recent market turbulence linked to the Iran conflict. The bank said institutional investors have rebuilt exposure to Bitcoin across both spot exchange-traded funds and CME futures markets at a pace not seen with Ether.

BREAKING: The U.S. Senate Banking Committee Has Passed the Clarity Act, the Major Cryptocurrency Bill





The long-awaited cryptocurrency market regulation bill, the CLARITY Act, has passed a crucial vote in the Senate committee.

The Clarity Act passed the Senate Banking Committee with a vote of 15 to 9. Two Democratic senators, Ruben Gallego and Angela Alsobrooks, voted in favor of the bill.

Although the bill has passed the committee stage, it still has several important steps to go through before it becomes law. If the final text passed by the Senate is identical to the version passed by the House of Representatives, the bill will be sent directly to the US President for signature or could automatically become law under certain procedures. However, as with most processes, differences between the Senate and House versions are expected.
