Bank of America's Q1 filing showed roughly $53 million in reported crypto ETF exposure overall
IBIT led the bank's crypto ETF holdings, with its reported stake near $37 million overall.
The filing showed lower Ether and Solana positions as Bitcoin products stayed the largest allocation.
The filing showed a larger IBIT position and smaller Ether and Solana ETF exposure, putting Bitcoin at the center of the bank's reported crypto ETF basket.
Bank of America held 972,590 shares of IBIT worth about $37.3 million at the end of the quarter, up from 719,008 shares in the prior filing. That made IBIT the largest single crypto ETF position in the bank's report.

The bank also held smaller Bitcoin ETF positions across other issuers. Its reported holdings included about $7.98 million in Bitwise's BITB, $3.32 million in Grayscale's Bitcoin Mini Trust, and about $1.71 million in Fidelity's FBTC. Smaller positions in GBTC, VanEck's HODL, and ARKB also stayed on the books.

Ethereum continued to demonstrate why it remains the backbone of decentralized finance. Throughout the week, total value locked fluctuated between $42.2 billion and $43.3 billion, significantly exceeding every other smart-contract blockchain. While TVL experienced minor declines during periods of broader market weakness, the network consistently attracted substantial capital and maintained deep liquidity across DeFi applications. Ethereum’s stablecoin market capitalization remained exceptionally strong, holding above $164 billion throughout the week and reaching nearly $166 billion on May 19.

This massive stablecoin base highlights Ethereum’s critical role as the settlement layer for digital dollar activity and institutional DeFi participation. Trading activity on Ethereum also remained robust, with daily decentralized exchange volume frequently exceeding $1 billion and peaking at $1.41 billion on May 18. Perpetual futures activity reached as high as $1.84 billion, demonstrating sustained demand for leveraged trading and advanced financial products. Although active addresses gradually declined during the week, transaction counts climbed from 1.85 million to more than 2.58 million daily transactions, indicating deeper engagement among existing users and reinforcing Ethereum’s status as the primary hub for high-value decentralized finance activity.

FET targets $0.22 after 10% rally – So why are traders still cautious?
Artificial Superintelligence Alliance [FET] is currently benefiting from a rally linked to the broader artificial intelligence token narrative. The asset posted a 10% gain at press time, as chart projections point to another double-digit move to the upside.

Despite this, there is a high probability that the rally may not fully materialize, as opposing forces point to weakening buyer strength in the FET market.

At the time of writing, FET was trading within a classic bullish flag pattern, a formation that has historically preceded significant price swings to the upside. The pattern forms when an asset undergoes a massive expansion in price, then consolidates within a slightly downward-trending channel before making another major upswing.

FET has already passed through two phases of this pattern, completing the initial expansion and currently consolidating within the downward channel.

The third and final phase would see FET break above the upper resistance of the downward channel, with two price targets ahead: $0.22 and $0.24.

Whether this expansion materializes, however, depends heavily on whether momentum and capital conditions align to support the breakout.

In a recent update aimed at addressing criticism of the Ethereum Foundation (EF), Vitalik Buterin proposed that the foundation will reduce its future Ethereum [ETH] sales.

In a post on X, Buterin pointed out that EF is starting to prioritize "longevity over breadth."

Buterin added,

The EF focuses *specifically* on those activities critical to the success of ethereum as a censorship/capture-resistant, open, private and secure system, that would not happen otherwise.

This comes after a string of well-known EF departures, which have reignited debate about the foundation's future. At least eight senior EF contributors have left or announced plans to do so in 2026, including five in May.
