Billy Markus, the founder of Dogecoin (DOGE), admitted on social media that he and Jackson Palmer created Dogecoin together and launched the meme coin in 2013. One of the factors that helped him create Dogecoin was Twitter (now renamed as X), but he didn't start using social media platforms until 2020. However, in the early years, his introduction of Dogecoin to the crypto community on social media was of great help to the project. Previously, Musk had considered adding DOGE as a payment option on Twitter, but he has not commented on this since the acquisition and renaming of the platform to X.
