Dropbox Ends Unlimited Option Due to Misuse by Customers

2023/08/25 16:25

Dropbox is discontinuing its unlimited storage option due to some customers abusing it for purposes such as crypto mining, personal storage pooling, and even reselling storage. The company's highest-tier storage plan will now have a cap, with customers who purchase a Dropbox Advanced plan with three active licenses receiving 15TB of shared storage space. Additional active licenses will receive 5TB of storage each. Current customers using less than 35TB of storage per license will be able to keep their total storage amount for five years, while those using 35TB or more will have one year to continue utilizing their current storage amount, plus an additional 5TB credit of pooled storage.
