FTX 2.0 Creditors: FTX Asks Court to Forgive $175M Customer Claim and Alameda Claim
2023/08/17 09:25
FTX 2.0 creditors claimed on social media X that FTX requested the court to resolve the Genesis $175 million claim dispute, waive the $175 million customer claim, and the (almost worthless) Alameda claim. The claim amount has dropped from the initial $3.9 billion to $2 billion, which is undoubtedly the worst deal so far, especially considering the new DCG <> Genesis DOJ investigation. Even if the balance of Genesis lenders has expanded due to interest earned from loans to Alameda, the current claim amount of Genesis is still higher than that of FTX. In 2022, Alameda used billions of FTX customer funds to repay Genesis. The encrypted assets they hold can be traced directly back to FTX customer deposits. We expect UCC to oppose this "transaction".
