The Zhengzhou Municipal Government issued a metaverse policy: the establishment of a special fund for the development of the metaverse industry of 10 billion yuan

On August 15th, the Zhengzhou Municipal Government Office released the "Several Policies for the Development of the Metaverse Industry in Zhengzhou City", providing substantial support for the development of the metaverse industry. Zhengzhou has refined and introduced more than 10 policy measures, among which, the head enterprises and major scientific research platforms in the metaverse field that move to Zhengzhou in a complete system and settle in Zhengzhou's regional headquarters will be given a maximum of 200 million yuan in start-up capital support and provided with "move-in ready" and "move-in office" support; organizing and implementing major science and technology special projects in Zhengzhou City, with a minimum of 10 million yuan in financial subsidies for each individual project; organizing and implementing the "Unveiling and Leading" R&D special project in Zhengzhou City, giving a maximum of no more than 5 million yuan in subsidies according to 50% of the actual payment amount of each individual project. For metaverse scene applications that are independently built by enterprises and institutions and recognized at the municipal level, a one-time subsidy of up to 5 million yuan will be given according to 30% of the actual investment in each scene, and the total number of typical scenes recognized in the city each year will not exceed 20. Zhengzhou City is committed to improving the public service capabilities of the metaverse industry, strengthening the cultivation and introduction of metaverse talents, and giving a maximum of 20 million yuan in project subsidies to high-end entrepreneurial teams, 5 million yuan to entrepreneurial leading teams, and 3 million yuan to innovative leading teams; strengthening financial support for the development of the metaverse industry, establishing a total of 10 billion yuan in special funds for the development of the metaverse industry, and jointly establishing a 50 billion yuan special fund with national ministries and commissions, provincial financial departments, and social investment institutions to support the development of the metaverse industry; encouraging metaverse enterprises to go public, and giving a one-time reward of 20 million yuan to main board listed enterprises.
