SandboxAQ, an AI-driven quantum technology platform, has released an open-source framework called "Sandwich" that aims to revolutionize cryptography management. The platform provides developers with a unified API for integrating cryptographic algorithms into applications, allowing for adaptation to evolving technologies and threats without the need for code rewrites. Sandwich also offers increased observability and control over cryptographic operations to enhance cybersecurity protocols. The framework supports multiple languages and operating systems, providing flexibility for developers to work in their preferred environment. It incorporates libOQS to streamline access to post-quantum cryptography algorithms from NIST. By abstracting cryptography from application code, Sandwich enables a crypto-agile architecture that allows developers to easily update and replace algorithms as needed. The framework simplifies the implementation of application-based cryptography by offering industry-standard protocols and reducing complexity through cohesive cryptographic objects called "sandwiches."
