UK's National Crime Agency to hire senior investigators for crypto-related crimes

The National Crime Agency (NCA) in the UK is seeking to expand its digital assets investigation team by hiring four senior investigators for its Complex Financial Crime Team (CFCT) to focus on crypto-related crimes. The role involves investigating high-end crypto fraud, money laundering, and other blockchain-based crimes carried out by organized crime groups. The investigators will work with a surveillance team and collaborate with London Police. Applicants must have a current or active Professionalising Investigation Programme Level 2 (PIP2) accreditation or any equivalent qualification on investigative crime issued by a government agency. The job pays a salary of £34,672 to £38,314 ($44,145 to $48,782.92) and other civil service benefits. The formation of the unit was driven by an increase in value lost to crypto fraud in the UK in 2022, with at least $287 million stolen by crypto scammers. The NCA has been continuously trying to bring more manpower to its crypto team, and on July 26, it also posted that it was looking for financial investigations managers.
