Queer Taiwanese-born artist YuYu Liu's first NFT exhibition "GAG" explores power dynamics and representation in modern societies

YuLiang "YuYu" Liu, a Taiwanese-born artist, draws heavily on his personal experiences as a foreigner and member of the Asian and queer communities in his work. As a queer artist and foreigner, he initially faced challenges, but he now uses his art to represent and empower these communities. YuYu's first solo NFT exhibition, "GAG," transformed the IHAM gallery in Paris into an immersive environment that reflects his identity and artistic journey. The exhibition features three new works that explore the philosophical concept of the "tortured genius" and examine power dynamics in modern societies. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, YuYu has found new opportunities to connect with a global audience through NFTs, which have allowed him to break free from the constraints of traditional art forms.
