Yuga Labs Wins IP Lawsuit Over BAYC Boring Apes

BAYC parent company Yuga Labs has won summary judgment in an intellectual property lawsuit against California artist Ryder Ripps and his BAYC parody disk project RR/BAYC, court documents show. As previously reported, Ryder Ripps had been investigating BAYC and its creator Yuga Labs since December 2021, arguing that there were extensive links between BAYC and internet Nazi troll culture and the launch of the BAYC parody disc RR/BAYC series; last June Yuga Labs filed a lawsuit against Ryder Ripps, alleging that they had copied and On 7 February, Yuga Labs settled the lawsuit with Thomas Lehman, who built the website and smart contracts for Ryder Ripps' BAYC replica discs RR/BAYC series.
