EU to vote on draft Funds Transfer Regulation covering crypto regulation

The European Union will vote on March 31 to amend the Funds Transfer Regulations, which include several provisions for the regulation of crypto assets, including all crypto transactions will be deemed “travel rule eligible”. Exchanges will be required to collect, verify and report information on non-customers using self-hosted wallets. Another provision would require exchanges to inform “competent authorities” of every single transfer from a non-customer’s self-hosted wallet equal to or greater than 1,000 EUR — regardless of any suspicion of bad activity.
