A16z leads Series A funding for game studio Voldex

Cryptocurrency-focused investment firm a16z has led a Series A investment in gaming studio Voldex for an undisclosed amount. Voldex is improving the quality of user-generated content platforms such as Roblox and Minecraft by acquiring and improving existing games. a16z said in a statement: "With over 58.8 million users on Roblox alone, the large and growing user base of these platforms and the Voldex team's deep understanding of the UGC The large and growing user base of these platforms and the Voldex team's deep understanding of the UGC gaming space will enable Voldex to grow significantly in the coming years," said a16z in a statement. As previously announced, as of December last year, a16z had deployed less than 50% of Crypto Fund 4, a $4.5 billion investment fund launched in May.
